Hi all

I'm a bit stuck for a babysitter, I need an After School Care person for my 2 darlings. Have posted on gumtree, findababysitter etc, but no luck so far (have been paying $15 ph last year, but sitter is moving back to home country)....

Does anyone here know of any reliable babysitter who's available at this rate, around inner west. Would be really glad if any of you could help.

Thanks in advance
Js

How many hours are you offering?

It may be worth going to $18, like if it's say 15 hours per week it'll cost you $45 more but you'll probably have more luck, especially in Sydney. :)

Or maybe pop an ad up at a tafe nearby if it has a children services as a subject?

Goodluck!

I was going to suggest a tafe also.
The bonus of a tafe student studying a child related field over a stranger is that they have already had police check and working with childrens check. They may also have their food handling certificate.
Plus, because it is their field if choice they will be enthusiastic.

Thanks for the advice. :)

It'll be between 15-20 hrs pw

Will put a notice up later at uni noticeboard I think...

Just a bit anxious to get this sorted.....

or could you talk to other mums at their school/daycare? see if anyone would be interested in the little bit of extra cash?

Actually, Tamara/SleeplessB.. when you suggest tafe... is there a particular way to go about it? Cos I was just going to walk up the street and stick a notice on the uni notice board....???

I would just put a notice up. With all the little cut outs at the bottom. I would put them up in as many locations as possible to get a quicker response.
But is tafe back yet? I don't know how tafe works, but uni starts first week of march not including summer school.

Good luck!

At the tafe near me they do childrens services and run a play group and I've seen notices for work on the pin board in the hallway :)

Sometimes the local shops have noticeboards that you could post on. I know our local IGA has a board..
Good luck
