Silly question I know... but my 10 month old daughter snores. Quite noticeably. She's been doing it for a few months now, is this normal?
no its not!
children under 5 shouldn't snore.
I'd get her checked out by a doctor asap. Do you ever notice her startling while she's breathing? Honestly, if i was you i would be sleeping in the same room as her (or co-sleeping) as much as possible (my godson snored and when he was taken to the doctor his mum was told that if she hadn't coslept he would have died of sleep apnea or sids), so it can be quite serious.
Hopefully not in your case, but i wouldn't be ignoring it at all!
Hope you get it checked out and find out there's no real issue though :hugs::hugs:

She does co sleep. Although, thanks, now I no longer think I'll manage to sleep... :P
Well, at least now I have loads of things to see the nurses about- her snoring, her enlarged breasts (she's skinny, so they're not fat, but pretty noticeable) and her 12 poos in 3 days. I'm pretty certain the poos are from some old chicken we ate at a cafe...
My son snored, and I recently took him to see a homeopath, and she perscribed some drops, and he does not snore anymore. My eldest used to snore until I took him to see a cranio sacral therapist, and that fixed him. My youngest snores, and I have to get him fixed up as well. I worried about sleep apnea with my middle son, as he was always so grumpy.

i'm sorry :( i didn't mean to make you worry.
I've just asked his mum again, and that was just this one doctors opinion. Its certainly not proven. But i'd still get her tonsils/adnoids checked out.
she's probably fine, so don't lose any sleep over it :hugs:
My 2.5 yr old DS snores and has for as long as I can remember. Not crazy loud, tear the house down, snoring like DH , but a light baby snore. I have never been that worried about it, just put it down to a blocked nose or laying a certain way.
Its not a silly question I have been taking my son to docters for over 2 years with this problem and it took him being taken to emergency(over something else) for them to find he has severe sleep apnea he is now 3yo and on the waiting list. But he snores really loud and sleeps for around 15-16hours a day he is now under developed physically and mentally for his age because he isnt awake to learn and can also cause ADHD(dont ask how just what I was told). My son throws the worst tantrums because he is always tired(not adhd) does babbling talk and is still in nappies, he is like a toddler. If it is sleep apnea just listen to her breathing when shes asleep to hear out for if she stops breathing and count for how long.My son stops breathing for 6-8 seconds. What I did keep getting told is to squirt a little saline into there nose before the go to sleep to see if that works. But I urge you to find a docter who will listen to you because it is serious. Good luck
I'm just going through this with my 2.5 yo now. He has always snored but I think its been getting worse - he often wakes me in the middle of the night with it! I've also only just found out that it's not normal and am waiting on appts with a Paed and ENT. I suspect he will need his adenoids out.
I've also heard about chiropractic type approaches and wonder whether I should try this - anyone had any experiences?

Going through this with my 4 year old and have been on the list for getting her adenoids and tonsils out since May 2010! She still has a sleep everyday as she doesn't get thru enough oxygen at night. If she doesn't hav a sleep she is a little feral!!!! Don't know how she'll go in two wks being at school all day, awesome health system!
