Hi everyone:wave: Well I thought Id let you know that I have found a cure for my dds eczema finally! She had it since she was very little and I had tried EVERYTHING but then my aunt said why dont you try organic cold pressed flaxseed oil, aparently it worked for a friends baby. So I got some from the local health store which was around $20 for a 500ml bottle. You give your child a teaspoon a day so it lasts a long time. Long story short after 2-3 weeks I noticed a difference and 8 weeks later it has completely gone :) Hope this helps someone out there as I know eczema is extremely fustrating for bubs and parents...
Hmm, might need to try this for myself. Thanks!!
Do you know how young a baby can be to have this? My DS is only 8months and his face is just about red raw. I think i've tried every topical cream out there and am at my wits end. Thanks

Heya, yes it can be taken from 6months onwards..it is recommended on the website for babies to have 1 teaspoon every other day :) I got the melrose brand and its at most health food stores in the fridge.
Like you greeneyes I have tried 100s of products on my daughter for her eczema except flaxseed oil. I had heard good things about it and read your post and decided to give it a go. I bought some Tuesday. I was advised to give my daughter Oat Milk instead of cows milk. My daughter is on a wheat free diet that also helps. I will try anything to help my little girl be more comfortable and stop itching. :fingerscrossed: this helps

:fingerscrossed: it helps for you also. It does take a little while to work but most things natural do :)

Hi ladies? Did you notice an improvement after your kids started having the flaxseed oil? Just wondering how it went after all these months...
Hey nicole83
the flaxseed oil helped my daughters eczema, however I took her to see a skin specialist. He gave me all these lotions and potions. I was very skeptical at the start but they have made a huge difference. She is taking a liquid that contains magnesium, zinc and a few other minerals twice a day as well as a powder that conatins all sorts of natural herbs twice a day, she is having a tablespoon of flaxseed oil as well as whole flaxseeds in some meals and I have taken her off all dairy products. She also has a pretty healthy diet, lots of green vegies, lots of boiled water not tap water because the chlorine dries her skin from the inside. I have done lots of research and its all about treating the inside of the body as well as the outside. She has a pawpaw based cream and I also use the aveeno baby cream on her skin.
I found a fabulous book by Karen Fischer called The Healthy Skin Diet its been a great resource and says pretty much the same as the skin specialist told me.

I think from what I've heard SO MANY different things work for so many different people! My friend SWEARS by giving his boy a good kilo of prawns!! If it flares up, guaranteed 1kilo of prawns later and he is FINE! funny!!!!

Hey disco 86
Ive heard a of a few bubs going on goat formula but cos your bub is so young it might pay to chat to your maternal and child health nurse first to see if thats the best way to go.
What do you bath your little one in? My daughter cant use anything from johnsons. She uses QV bath oil. The flare up oil is fantastic but im not sure if you can use it on little ones, youd have to check. Moisturising twice a day also helps alot.
