Hi All,

I know that I am being impatient but I have been trying for three months now and I am still not pregnant (well I am not sure but have to wait to see of I get AF next Thursday to know for sure).

It just seems like everyone else that I know that has tried for their second seems to have fallen pregnant straight away and for me it seems to be taking forever!!

My first DS is now 14 months and have been off the Pill for 3 months (cycles seem regular) and I really want to have a second soon....and I think I might be pregnant but I dont feel any different (yes its only been a week). DP doesnt think I am but I am hoping...really hoping.

So...how long did it take for anyone to fall pregnant with their second?

Being very impatient,

Michelle

Hi Michelle, it definitely is a frustrating time! Just wondering if you are using OPKs? We started last month and got very lucky! I think it was due to me knowing exactly when O time was. Good luck, I hope it happens for you very soon! :fingerscrossed:

Don't worry too much. Being on the pill, it can take a couple of months to ovulate again, even if your cycles are regular after coming off it. And it is usually better to have at least a month or two (or more) after coming off it for the health of your bub anyway (or so I hear!)

It took us a very long time to fall PG first time round (years!), but only 6 months of kind-of-trying to fall PG this time. So don't worry, it'll happen! 6 months for us was such a surprisingly short period of time, considering our lengthy wait last time, but I do know what it's like to go a few months with nothing happening. :fingerscrossed: Fingers crossed for you for this month anyway!

I was really lucky and got preg with no2 in the first cycle we tried for, but I hadn't been on the pill or anything like that so that might have somthing to do with it:yes:

GOOD LUCK :fingerscrossed:

Thanks guys....I know its silly being so impatient and 3 months in the greater scheme of things isnt that long to wait. Its just those 2 weeks of waiting between the O and the BFN or BFP (if I am lucky). And then when you get the BFN its so disappointing.

Babybungee and Mrs Miggins - makes sense about the Pill. Hadnt really factored that into to.

Foxy - I am using OPKs....but I think the stats are (I am 34) that I only have a 15% chance of falling pregnant each cycle. Which is pretty horrible to think about!

But thanks very much for the support....hopefully by next week I will have some good news!

It took us two years to get pregnant the first time, second bub was a complete surprise and our third took us 6 months of trying.

Well I was breastfeeding a set of twins and became pregnant 4 months after their birth! I am in a minority I am sure, as I also had PCOS, poorly functioning kidneys and lots of others probs!

It took 3 months to get pg with DS#1 and 6 months with DS#2 and we have only just started trying this month and I'm already getting impatient :o so don't worry we are all the same in the need for it to be straight away and if it isn't you start obsessing.

Good Luck :fingerscrossed: :hugs:

I've been trying for #2 since April, before that I was breastfeeding and didn't have AF but wasn't using protection.

I, too, am getting frustrated at the time its taking to fall pregnant this time. I'm in the TWW now and :fingerscrossed: its my lucky month.

I was pregnant at the start of the year but ended up m/carrying :( It didn't take very long to get pregnant with that pregnancy after coming off the pill (same with Hayley bubba) we have been ttc since March so fingers crossed we become pregnant again soon :fingerscrossed:

I had secondary infertility. I concieved my first son with no problems. My second I started trying even though I had no cycle. It took 2 1/2 years to get my cycle back and a few more months to actually concieve, almost 3 years in all. I am hoping it won't take as long this time around. I am having a cycle on my own now but they are long and I don't ovulate until the 24th or even the 26th cd. I did get a positive opk this month!!! I expect this month has failed, I am due for af tommorrow and have the signs it is coming...but maybe.. just maybe, it won't! Good luck I am sure it won't be long now!
