I had an internal ultrasound but can't remember how much it cost. (It was over 5yrs ago now).
Now I have two beautiful girls :smiliedance:
i went to my GP who then sent me for blood tests and an internal ultrasound - no cost to me because i have a health care card... my sister had to pay for the ultrasound for her pcos and it costed $150 and she got $85 back from medicare,... hope that helps a bit :)

im going to get a blood test done today...my doc didnt say anything about a U/S...and its costing me nothing as im on a pension card and medicare...
Hi, I had my tests done earlier this year and I had blood tests, internal ultrasound and they also did a HSG to see if my tubes were blocked at the same time. All up for both it cost me over $400 but I think the ultrasound was about $200 off the top of my head (actually might not of been that much) and I did get some back from Medicare as well. All the best with tests if you are getting them done.If you have any questions about the tests feel free to PM me.
My tests didnt cost a thing, I had a blood test which indicated PCOS and then went onto have an ultrasound at a fertility specialist later on.
Remember there are two conditions.. PCO and PCOS, the PCO is where you will have cysts on your ovaries but dont have the 'Syndrome' where you also have hormonal abnormalities.
PCOS is where you have the hormone abnormalities and MAY also have cysts, most people have both symptoms of the Syndrome however you do not have to have the cysts to be diagnoased with PCOS. I believe the hormone abnormalities are mainly to do with your LH/FSH levels and ratio to each other and also high testosterone... but everyone is different. Some people also have IR (Insulin Resistance) which can contribute to being obese however again this is not with everyone. My two sisters who have it are very thin (45-55kg), I am more of a 'healthy' weight (65kg), none of us have IR. It can run in families (hence all 3 sisters in our family having it), they say if you have a sister with PCOS you have a 50% chance of also having it.
Hope that didnt confuse anyone!
