I have been following some threads and seen some people feed for a couple of weeks and some yrs.. What is the longest you have fed your baby/toddler..

My dd was 13 and a half mnths and weaned herself as I was preggars with ds
My ds and I are still enjoying breast feeding and he is 13 mnths and I hope to feed him until he is 2:smiliedance:

I love breastfeeding and I hope that my love for breast feeding is being passed down through to my dd.. As my mum did for us!!

I breast fed my dd until 4 months when i had surgery and my milk dried up i was having a few problems with reflux/colic/lactose intollerance so decided to do the bottle turns out she was heaps more settled so i know i done the right thing for her.
Ds is 7 weeks and im loving bf him but hes hasnt got many wind/reflux issues i intend on feeding him until he weans:yes:

3+ years with my first. 4years and 3 months all together for 2 children.

(Some places have a sticky at the begining of the breastfeeding section which is a running talley of the breastfeeding years..........Maybe we could have a sticky in this section for BubHubs Breastfeeders to count up our years Breastfeeding?)

DD1 13 mths
DD2 is coming up 13 mths, with no plans to stop until she's a teenager!!LOL!

I like Goosie22's idea about the running tally.

By my calculations (do not quote me on this!) all of us add up to about 281 months:eek: , which is also 23.4 years!

With DD, she was on formula at 17 weeks old, breast refusal after facial surgery :(

My youngest had just turned 4 when we stopped, which we both agreed to, previously he had been on night time only with very occasional comfort feeds for about a year and a half. I thought it was definately time (I had been trying to get him to wean since 2 1/2 but found too much resistance, so progressively reduced it), but I think he would've kept going if I had let him - boys  .

Previously, my second was 11 1/2 months when she weaned herself and my first was 14 months, and was weaned by me, due to a Doctor insisting it was hurting my unborn child at the time (causing cramps) - she was really traumatised by the two week wean, spent 1-2 years putting her hand down my top and still plays with her nipples for comfort at 7. :(

WHAT A TERRIFIC JOB ALL OF YOU HAVE DONE ALREADY!! I am a passionate breastfeeder and love the fact that I am giving my child the BEST start in life.. I had such pain with my 2 when we began and then my DS started biting and I know the pain would be enough to turn anyone of feeding but I wouldn't....

My DH has severe Dermatitas (which he will have to go to hosi for again soon) I feel very proud that I could stop my 2 from getting the dermo as severe as dh..:yelclap:

I agree with the sticky..

Add another year and four months for me, as I only posted the 'longest' time I've fed for, without including my first and second children :)

DS is still firmly latched on FAK right now LOL

Okay, so make that 549 mths or 45.7 yrs. Let me remind you all that although i am using a calculator it is highly likely i still haven't added them all up properly!

I bf ds for about 11mths and have to admit to hating it for the first five or so months then i tolerated it for the basic reason it was best for him.
I have major regrets about weaning him as he had alot of allergies and also loved bm and would have continued BUT i was just over it,

This time round im really hoping I have a different experience and actually enjoy my time bfing my second child.

I dont know if ill do extended bfing but i will defiantely try and continue beyond 12mths this time round.

Well done to all you amazing lactating mummies, its not an easy job!

DS1 - 16 months, self-weaned (ie, wanted booby, but not milk - would spit it out and get frustrated that he just couldnt suck without drinking :crying: )

DS2 - 10 months, self-weaned (ie, got agro one night at boob, just wanted to be put down to sleep, and utterly refused from that point onwards - only wanted water from cups after that  )

Longest so far: DS3 - 22 months - I was all in favour of tandem feeding when my new bubs came along, but I found it really painful, so was very disappointed to give it up 3 months into the pregnancy - but he really didnt care, and gave up with out blinking an eyelid....

DS4 - who knows???????? fak right now :D

The longest I have exclusively expressed was 5 months for DS1. Unable to breastfeed for different reasons each time the duration dwindled sadly... down to 3.5 months for DD1 and then 2.5 months for DD2 the last bub WILL BE BREASTTTTTTT fed... not EBM fed!

13 months for DD1
18 months for DD2

With both I stopped because I was pregnant again and needed all the energy I could get - and both times they were not too perturbed about stopping as I did it really gradually. With this one I plan not to get pregnant again so who knows how long I will go for????:D
