hi all,

my wee man is 7weeks old and we are using cloth nappies for a few different reasons but i'm having a major issue with leaking, all his clothes are wet after 2hrs in the nappy (yes i know it should be changed every 2hrs but i didnt think i could be changing everything). this is my first time using the new modern all in one nappies but really considering going back to the terry toweling ones with a fleece cover that i used for my twins and rarely had a leaking issue even at night.

so i brought some off ebay (babyland and earfts) i am using the inserts and also adding an extra insert (bamboo) and using a home made micro-fleece linner.

please tell me what i am doing wrong!!!!!

Were they prewashed?
Even the bamboo? Three times is the recommended for decent absorbancy :)
I wouldn't use microfibre at all on a newbie TBH, it has major compression leak issues, which isn't good with the positioning a newbie has most of the time (ie. pressure on nappy area, compared to a crawler, for example)
I don't change after 2 hours, didn't with newborns either, both in cloth. DS was in terry flats, DD in MCNs... 3 hours, 4 - 5 when DD had a big sleep, minimal leaks... HTH

Could you try a brand like bbh or genesa forge? I find these are better fitting then the cheap ones. I agree with pp re microfibre. Try bamboo or hemp only. I haven't used microfibre since DD was 3 months old and I've not had any problems with leaks (except in ittis)
Don't give up just yet. Try some other brands first.

Ok so ill take the fleece linner out of the nappy then and see how we go, the ones i brought were overly cheap still about $12 for one nappy
