I am looking into getting some PHI.

I looked at iSelect, but they seem to have very limited comparisons.

I want to find out who people are with and their experience with customer service etc.

Thanks for the answer.

Can people tell what level of coverage they have too. I'd be looking at pregnancy services as well as general cover for me and hubby

I have top hospital cover and extras. Because that's where the pregnancy cover is. My partner has basic hospital cover and extras. We pay just over 200 a month!

NIB - we get 50% back on extras, which is a good deal. It includes things like remedial massage. Their customer service has always been good. I don't know about their pregnancy cover as I went public :)

Thanks, I was talking to hubby. He's really healthy, never gets sick etc. I'm the one with all the problems! So he reckons I should just get it.

Can I just get singles cover that covers pregnancy?

PB - what do you mean 50% back on extras? Do you mean on the premiums you pay for extras or on the actual full cost of extras services. So 50% back of your dentists bill?

Yep, we both have singles. Because to have couples you just pay double. So it's cheaper for us if I have the higher level of cover (also for my issues) and DF just has the basic level with things like optical and dental! :)

I'm with Peoplecare and can't talk highly enough of them. Very reasonably priced, exceptional customer service (you speak to a real person every time, without have to 'press 1'), and they provide great extras coverage - I have silver extras and they cover 75% of each treatment cost.

Re single cover vs family cover - from a pregnancy cover, if you use you PHI for birth under a singles cover, in a private hispital, you will be covered but your baby would not - so if they need anything done (eg special care nursery) you would have to pay for it out of your own pocket (can be very exy!) With family cover, you and bubs are covered.

Juzz - that's not the case with MBF. Even with singles cover the baby is covered for the first 6 weeks of it's life. Then you need to add it to your policy - so switch to family cover. :)
