View Full Version : Fourth Pregnancy.. barely any nausea?
Hi, I am 8 weeks pregnant with my fourth baby. I had bad morning sickness with the other three (all girls). 1st til 12 weeks, 2nd til 24 weeks, 3rd til 17 weeks. I have been waiting for the nausea to come but I feel pretty good, only slightly blerky after I eat something and then it disappears. Normally at this stage of the pregnancy I can barely get off the lounge. I keep hearing the old wives tale that it's because this baby is a boy, but I don't believe that. Instead I am more worried that there is something wrong. Is this a common thing? morning sickness for some and not for others? thanks :)
:)
I hope we are getting a break!
I had a scan at 6 weeks to check dates and the heart rate was good, so maybe we've got nothing to worry about?
But I know I'll worry until I'm holding my little one in my arms :)
I am due August 9th 2011

maybe it's a 4th baby thing! :D i had hardly any sickness this time- the small amount i had coincided with a flu that went round and as DS3 was vomiting i thought i just had that.. later realised i was preggers...
i thought this one might be a girl as i'm craving lamb chops not crunching my way through countless trays of ice like i was with the last three but alas it's another boy- 22 weeks and still going strong :fingerscrossed: so stay positive and i hope all goes well...

Mitake - I actually thought this WAS your thread when I saw the shorts flash up on the main screen :p
This is my 3rd pregnancy, I lost 1 baby through a missed m/c and only found out at the NT scan that it had died at 6 weeks. That pregnacy was much the same as the other 2 symptoms wise. I had the same nausea, tiredness, sore boobs etc. I think because with a missed m/c everything else keeps on growing etc even though the baby has stopped KWIM? So the hormones are similar?
Have my fingers crossed for you both it is just your bodies being used to pregnancy this time round and it not making as many waves :goodvibes:

Aren't you lucky? Maybe this one is a boy :D
I didn't have MS with either of mine (thank GOD) but I have friends who did with one and not the other, or did with all. I guess it varies from pregnancy and pregnancy.
Maybe your body thought that seeing as this was number 4, it would give you a break
Also, it's pretty early - I thought MS didn't `generally' come on until a bit later? Sorry ... that's not very helpful, is it? :o

I didnt have any ms with the first 2, but had shocking ms with no.3 for 20weeks, and with no.4 I had it from 4-8weeks and found out it was my pregnancy vitamins - once I made the swap the ms went away.
I think each pregnancy is different, I wouldnt stress :hugs:
uh
i spoke to soon... i feel terrible today, nausea all day and my mouth feels like it's full of glue...
:barf:
whyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
But now I'd really love some bbq lamb chops.. really crispy lol
Yep these babies sure are letting us know they're there. I have done so many pregnancy tests in the last few weeks because I had no symptoms, now there's no need to do any more
Yes I would love for you to help me out with my lamb chops craving, would they make it through the mail in a post pack? lol

LOL i was the opposite, i have 2 girls and a boy and my 4th is due 10th of august. with my other 3 i would feel queasy every now and then, but it was fairly easy to ignore there was just a few foods that made my stomach turn. This time, i'm nauseous all the time! Every tiny little thing makes me gag, and if my husband mentions certain things i dash to the bathroom. Not fun!
But as they say every pregnancy and child is unique, if i'm going through this much hassle now, heres hoping for a blissfully behaved child :fami01:
So how is everyone feeling?
I am now back to the 'something must be wrong' bit
Morning sickness seems to be done, only 2 weeks of it! just doesn't seem right to me.
It stopping did coincide with me being told that I am gluten, dairy, amine and nickel intolerant and having to cut those out of my diet. Today is only my fourth day on cutting those out and I am going through withdrawals (apparently they have an opiate effect on the brain, so we go through withdrawals, plus side I have lost 2kgs) but there is no tummy nausea.
Really really can't wait for my 12 week scan on the 25th :fingerscrossed:

Tangle - I am 20 weeks with no.4, have 3 girls have had barely any m/s. I have felt nauesous but that usually went away when I ate something. With all 3 of my girls I had m/s up until around the 17 week mark. I have my scan on Monday so will let you know if the old wives tales are true or not! LOL!
Thanks!
I would love to know what sex your new baby is :goodvibes:
Just noticed all of our other babies were born in the same months in the same order.. cute :)
Hope all goes well with your scan!
Hi Mitake
I'm sorry your morning sickness hasn't improved :(
It's horrible when you get to the point of not remembering what normal feels like. That's why I feel so odd, wondering why this pregnancy is so different, crossing my fingers I finally got lucky and am not destined to have the morning sickness I experienced with my other 3 pregnancies.
I have a friend who sucks the life out of me who told me that "IT COULD STILL HAPPEN!" blah blah blah, she was also the friend who once told me that you can't possibly have morning sickness after 12 weeks and it would be an infection.. more blah blah etc
I hope you feel better soon :)

Tangle - Just thought I'd let you know that after my scan yesterday, it's another girl! Just goes to show the old wives tales are just that! LOL! GL with your scan!
Congratulations now mum to four girls! :cheerleader2:
We wont find out the sex for a long time yet, but I'll let you know how our scan goes next week :)
I had my nuchal scan this morning.
Feeling a bit unsure. I went to the same place that I went to for my last little one, supposedly the best in Newcastle and expensive too. She took measurements and said that nuchal was thin and that was good. But then she said that the chord was behind the baby's neck and she wasn't getting an accurate measurement. So I emptied my bladder, coughed a few times, baby flipped around and when it settled she said "that's better" and took another reading which was 2.5mm. (others were 1.6mm and 1.5mm)
When I got the results, I was told 1 in 490. That stressed me as my last baby was 1 in almost 2000. She kept telling me it was in the normal range. Fair enough.
Then when I came home and watched the DVD I noticed that the measurements that she used were the two from when the chord was against the nuchal and the one from when the chord was moved! So I believe that the results are inaccurate as correct measurements weren't used to get the average and the ratio would be much closer to high risk (1:300). I have made an appointment at a different place for a second opinion on Thursday. Fingers crossed for a more accurate result and I can relax more

I am only up to my secound, i would love four but DH wants 3 maximum but if he dosn't get his boy we are going back for a fourth, so i am hoping this one and the next one will be girls :plol.
Mitake- i was also bragging about having no morning sickness, i was a bit worried and have secretly i wished i would get it atleast i would know everything was okay. With DD i was so sick............... I had not really had any morning sickness until this morning :barf: why o why did i wish for that .
Hi everyone :)
Thought I would let you know that we had an amnio on monday
(which I regret :( )
and we found out the sex and IT'S A BOY!!!:Cloud9Blue:
wow 3 girls and now a little boy :)
I honestly couldn't have cared less about the sex of the baby, a boy is going to be different, I'm so used to girls!
We totally disagree on boy's names, so the next 5 months are going to be full of disagreements. I have to let my husband have Magnus for the middle name (hey I never thought I'd ever have a boy lol) because he let me have Aurelia for our 3rd daughter's middle name.
So there you go, the old wives tale of barely any morning sickness with a baby boy was true for me :)
