Hi
Well, our baby had been due on the 17th September, but we decided to go for a repeat c-section on the 7th September. About half way through August I started getting mild Braxton Hicks on a daily basis with a couple of stronger ones in the evenings.
On Friday 25th August there were a few little things I did - like print out a copy of my DD's routine, what to take for daycare, etc and for some reason we ate really early, at 6pm instead of our usual 7:30. Then, in the evening, we were lying on our bed watching Goldeneye (Pierce being one of my top 3 male actors - along with Hugh Jackman and Goran Visjnic) and I had my strong contraction, followed by another, then another. I started timing them and they were coming about 6 mins apart so after an hour, at 10 pm, I rang the hospital who said to come in.
We couldn't find anyone to come to look after DD so we woke her and took her with us. She was great about it  . So we got to the hospital really expecting to be told that they were just BH and to go home as my waters hadn't broken or anything, but instead they confirmed I was in labour  at 37 weeks and said I would have my c-section in an hour or two!! That was a bit of a shock, but my DH managed to find someone who could come to our house to be with DD so he took her home whilst I was prepped.
We rolled into theatre just about midnight and we had a little boy, Alexander James, weighing 6lbs 7oz, born at 00:18 on Saturday 26th August - my parent's 45th wedding anniversary! He scored 9 on his apgar but had to be taken to special care as he needed oxygen and air to help clear the mucus out of his lungs.
He was out of the incubator after 12 hours, and spent a few days in special care until he was released to my care on Wednesday and we both came home on Friday.
Oh and then my MIL babysat on Saturday night whilst we went to see Hugh live in the Boy from Oz! That was a bonus and I didn't think anyone would be silly enough to volunteer for babysitting duty :D
