Does anyone else find it difficult at this time of year? I'm nearly 29 and the oldest of seven kids. Christmas for me is always a reminder that I'm not ever going to have the typical 'nuclear family'. I'm 6 months shy of 29, and single. I had a five year plan, but it keeps getting pushed back. How many times can I push it back before I just give up on the one dream I really wanted to make a reality. When does a person decide it's too late to keep hoping and keep searching. I used to say I'd give up on being a Dad by 30, now I'm going to hold out till 35 but I think after that, any dreams I've got of having a Christmas with my own partner and kids will be shattered.
This isn't intended to be as depressing as it comes across, in fact I would use the word 'jealous' to best describe how I'm feeling, at least when I look at my younger siblings and see them with their wives and children.
Anyway I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday, and never take what you have for granted.
