HI girls,

My dh and I are about to do a role swap - I currently work full time and go to uni full time and he is the sahd. But I've cracked it - he doesn't do his job properly, I've just sacked him as the stay at home parent so he's going to work and I'm going to be at home and uni and might work a couple of day? not sure yet, but will be the stay at home parent.

Next year I will have ds year 2 ds prep and ds 3. Any advise, tips anything is appreciated. P.S I know it isn't going to be a walk in the park, but going to be better than working, studying and have to do everything at home as well.
Thanks :reindeer:

Don't work as well, fulltime SAHM and uni student is hectic.

Don't let your 3 year old give up naps, you can use that time to study/clean.

Have a good daycare for when you go to uni and if you dcon't have one invest in a slow cooker.

I love to put dinner on in the morning and go to uni and come home to dinner all cooked and I just have to do some rice and dish it up.

Goodluck :):cheerleader1:

I'm just trying to imagine Dh sacking me from being a SAHM for not doing my job properly...:iron2::hoponbed:
Sorry I just had to throw those AV's in.

I agree with the above post, prepare dinner in the morning, pop in the fridge and then pre-heat just before dinner time...
Also make extra and try to freeze for another night (works good with casserols and pasta sauce...)
Space out your house work, one day change sheets, one day vacc/mop, one day toilets/bathrooms etc...

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks girls,

You both probably think I'm being a cow sacking my dh - but enough is enough.

Thanks so much for the tips. My 3year old doesn't nap - hasn't since he was about 12months old, but will try and make sure he at least has some 'quiet' time. Will dig out my slowcooker - I love using it - makes dinner so easy and makes the house smell yummy all day. Great idea on making more to freeze.

Thanks girls I'll be back for more if I start going :freakingout: hehe

I acutally need to put another recipe in there I have started recently. Will put it here too, my whole family love this.

Lamb Curry

This serves approx 4

Ingredients
1/4 cup plain flour
800g diced lamb shoulder
1 large brown onion, chopped
1-2 teaspoon of minced garlic
1 long red chilli, finely chopped if you want extra kick but omit if seerving to children
1/4 cup curry paste
270ml light coconut milk
2 cinnamon stick
1 dried bay leaf

Method
Place flour and lamb in a snap-lock bag. Season with salt and pepper. Seal. Shake to coat. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook lamb, in batches, for 3 to 4 minutes or until browned. Transfer to a 4.5 litre-capacity slow cooker.

Add onion, garlic and ginger to pan. Cook, stirring, for 4 to 5 minutes or until tender. Add chilli and curry paste. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add coconut milk, stock powder and 3/4 cup cold water. Bring to the boil. Transfer to slow cooker. Add cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Stir to combine.

Cook, covered, on LOW for 6 hours or until lamb is tender. Remove and discard cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Serve with rice.

Very yummy and my family love it, always good the next day too.
