Just wanted to say I've met my ex's new partner twice now, and I'm really lucky. She seems to be really nice, and a good mum to her little girl, and seems to want to do her best to look after my kids when they are with her.
I'm still not allowed to have the phone number at their house, so I'm forced to play a silly game of texting or calling my ex on his mobile if I need to talk to him, and then asking him to call me at home as I can't afford the mobile bills. But I hope before too long they'll grow up a bit and just give me their home number, it is not like I'm going to phone stalk them or anything (and I have the number anyway as it comes up on my mobile).
But, silly phone stuff aside, I've think the kids and I (and my ex) are really lucky. Hoping their relationship works out and that he treats her a whole lot better than he treated me. So far, he is a different man, even does the washing up and got up to help change a wet bed at night (nearly fell off my chair when the kids told me this!).
I still feel a bit weird that they have a nice cosy family thing happening (it was very quick) and at my house it is just me and the kids, but I'll get used to it, and I wish their family well.
