I was in the post office the other day and these older women were whinging because there was no christmas carols this year because of all the immigrants coming and making up change our traditions

We're all freaking immigrants. Well, at least descended from some.

Considering that majority of Aboriginal people aren't "full-blooded" Aboriginals and have some other blood in them, EVERYONE here comes from some sort of immigrant.

And yeah, I dunno how immigrants are ruining Christmas. Is she talking about those ones who crashed and many died? I'm pretty sure their Christmas is worse than ours will ever be... and actually, to escape their countries in such a dangerous way, I'm pretty sure all their previous Christmases would be pretty shocking too.

I love how nobody b*tches about English/American/other white, English-speaking immigrants who move here. Nobody goes, "Oh those bloody English, ruining our country, taking our jobs, blah blah blah." It's all about the darker skinned non-English speaking immigrants (or from non-English backgrounds, rather than not speaking English... some of them speak really well in English!).

I'd be p*ssed if our country filled up with a bunch of immigrants and it meant that we were no longer allowed to do things, "The Aussie Way," (whatever that means), but so far, no immigrants have caused anything like that, so why do people even care?

Yep, I got into a big debate because someone posted this as their status- grrr

We can't say Merry Christmas anymore. We have to say Happy Hloidays, We can't call it a christmas Tree' it is now called a Holiday Tree!!, because it might offend someone, They call it customs and We have our customs! This is AUSTRALIA!! IF U DONT LIKE IT THEN MAYB YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY! If u agree with this Please post this as your status. Oh yeah by the way MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Did u enjoy Santa turning up at ur class wen u were little??? I did. My children can't now. Most classrooms can't decorate with "traditional" Christmas decorations for fear of being sued. That's a fact! We r one of, if not the most, cultura...lly diverse countries on the planet yet we still create separation by giving into the minority. I'm not religious but have enjoyed celebrating Christmas the same way every year regardless of it's meaning and believe these fear tactics have no place in Australian Society.

DH made a good point the other day about people whinging about immigrants taking 'our' jobs, its always the same people who would rather be unemployed then pick fruit, work in a servo, or drive a taxi. Its below them, but they'll still whinge about how immigrants 'took their jobs.'

I don't get this either. Apparently immigrants are stealing all our jobs but then don't forget also that they are all just bludging off centrelink.

Someone should dob them in for defrauding the government like that! They're stealing all the money that the government could use to stop them from coming over on those boats, cos don't you know all immigrants are illegal and come by boat.
