Help I am so confused and hoping someone can give me some advice.

So my DS has been on Elecare for MSPI since 1 month corrected, his symptoms were constant crying, extreme stomach pain and gas, total breast & bottle refusal, stuffy nose, minor rash around mouth and eyes while drinking milk. We tried lactose free formula, soy formula (better but still not right) NAN HA before moving onto Elecare where he was a different baby happy and gaining weight!

DS is doing really well with his solids and is on 3 meals a day and will eat just about anything. BUT will not drink the elecare anymore which i think is due to the taste. I have tried adding vanilla ect but he is just not interested. After seeing the Pead last week he said he was happy for us to start trialling dairy as he is almost 1 now.

As DH and I are lactose intolerant I asked if I should start DS on full fat lactose free milk, which he agreed may be a good idea. From there I was on my own, The next morning I gave him a full bottle of LF milk, he drank about half he then had heaps of gas and constant poos firm but constant. So I thought I probably need to ease into it a bit more and started doing 50/50 with water or formula he has been on this for 3 days and having 3 bottles a day he seems uncomfortable with gas (not miserable) just not normal, he is also pooing constantly as in every hour.

I really just want some advice do I stop the milk, start in smaller doses, try yoghurts 1st. The pead only said to stop if he gets diarrhoea. Ahhhhhhh I'm so confused. :dizzy:

Advice or experiences needed please Thankyou

wow that would even be fast for a bubs on normal formula going onto normal milk, there body needs time to ajust.

They usualy start by ading in a little bit at a time, Like start adding in things with milk protein as one of the listed ingredients, like I know arnots shapes have that in them ( i knownot a healthy one but that sort of thing like hidden milk, then adding it in with there potato for mashing, then some yougurt then little bits of milk mixed with the elecare ( if he wil drink it mixed) or diluted milk. Takes time if you go to fast they wont tolerate it anyway

The advice I was given by the Royal Children's Hospital when introducing a liquid is:

Day 1: 1mL
Day 2: 2.5mL
Day 3: 5mL
Day 4: 10mL
Day 5: 20mL

So basically, you just keep going and double the amount each day until you reach a normal serve for your child's age. We were told to stop if we thought our DD was reacting to, in our case, the food we were offering.
