ive tried s26 gold , and heinze formulas,, both when my 4 1/2 month old little girl is pretty hungry, and she wont have a barr of either of them, does anyone know of any that taste diffenrent to these ones,, im not keen on buying tins,if she wont drink it, and both of those have came in sachets,, i have a karicare one to try tomorrow, and shes not a fussy bubs, takes ebm fine, but i need to find a formula she will drink occasionally.. has anyone else had experience with introducing formula when they wont have it,, what did you do,, just keep offering?? any tips ...please???

:hugs: Sorry I don't have any evidence to back this up really because my DD has always been a greedy guts and will drink pretty much anything... but, I would go to your chemist and get some advice on what bubs seem like the most (if they know that sort of stuff  ) and keep getting a couple of different brands in the sachets to try...

They're pretty cheap to buy, so you won't waste a whole tin that way. It takes a while sometimes to find the right one for your bub... Best of luck and :fingerscrossed: you find one she likes.

Oh and I think the gold formulas are pretty rich, so I don't know whether that would have anything to do with it or not...

I have been told that Nan is the closest formula to breastmilk so perhaps that may help.

Hey, I have some satchets of Karicare Starter that my son cant use (he's now on Goats)....if you PM me I'd be happy to send them to you.

He seemed to like the Karicare stuff, hated the S26. Woolies sell the satchets BTW. :)

thanks mischeif,,
i actually have some of that, was meant to try it today but i was too busy and out of the house all day.. fingers crossed she drinks it .. but thanks anyway for the offer,, i have been trying to get my hand s on a sachet of that goats formula but they dont sell them anymore,, do you think it still has the same taste as the other ones,
she just does a face as if im feeding her lemons and then looks at me weird and pushes it away,, im afraid there is not much of a taste difference with all the formulas

hello when i started my bub on formula she didnt want it either it took three different types of bottles and four made up bottles to reliase that i was making the bottles up to cold (tepid). make them warmer than you think and see if she likes it then.

When we put our 4 month old on formula she hated it also but i just kept persisting and eventually they take a bit more every feed, most chemists sell the satchets depending on the brands they support and if they have a nurse there she can offer you advice and they usually give you some to try free thats what we did.
My little one has karikare senicare and we havent had any problems,.
Scince your bub is having ebm you need a formula made out of ceasin not whey, bm is ceasin based and some formulas are whey based which makes them alot heavier and harder to digest.I know karikare and s26 are both ceasin based but dont buy the gold because they have alot added to them making them very rich, there is also a new product storming the market and its called novalac. Goodluck!:fingerscrossed:

We had a few problems with formula to begin with, but more due to our kids having reflux and other issues. We ended up with both boys on Karicare Goat formula, great for reflux, wind and skin issues. But when they were about 6-8 months old we put them on Karicare Gold without a problem. I hope it works for you.

Howdy,
I had the same issues with my little one! At 5 months I decided we had to introduce formula, and after him taking a bottle with both formula and expressed and once even water out of a bottle when he was 6 weeks old, I thought we would have no problems BUT he had other ideas
there was nooo way he was going to cooperate!!!!
We tried S26 (gold and normal) and Karicare, as they came in sachets, but no way, basically spat them out. He took expressed a couple of times. Then we got a tin of another one, and still no way. Then a visit to the chemist came with the answer, the lady there introduced us to a new formula NOVALAC, made in France. It is very popular over in Europe. It was amazing, he took it basically striaght away and 2 weeks later is still on it.!!!! It is a little more expensive but considering he wouldnt even open his mouth to the others it is great!
Good Luck
