Conception after infection from IUD??

I was after a bit of advice after visiting the docs today. I've been diagnosed with a Utery (sp?) infection when I had my IUD removed and have been given antibiotics. The problem is that we don't know how long I've had it or how bad it is. The doc said it was low grade but there is still a risk that it could have affected my fertility.:crying: I was just wondering if anyone else has had this and still conceived or if I'm just stuffed now. I'm really upset about it so could do with some support from you lovely ladies.

By Utery do you mean your uterus? or urinary (bladder).

Pelvic Inflamitory disease is the term given to infections of the uterus affecting your fertility, this is a major long term infection caused by things such as Chlamydia, Gonorrhea or another type of Bacteria.

Endometritis is an infection of the linning of the uterus which can lead to PID if not treated but it usually picked up pretty quick as one of the things you notice is a foul discharge vaginally.

If you Dr has said its low grade, find out the organisim that caused the infection from the pathology slip and you can find out more from there.

Thanks for the replies I think he said it was a bacterial infection from the IUD so I assume in the Uterus, I'm sure that's what he said. I think he said it can cause endemitriosis or PID but hopefully we have got it in time. I'm just worried, it doesn't help when DH is very flipant about it "Oh you'll be ok" as if it is nothing, yeah I might be but I might not!!!!!! Sorry just venting i know everything will probably be ok.:(
