Having had 4 singletons before my twins I have found a few areas of caring for twins leave me feeling like I've gone a few rounds in the world boxing titles. I thought it would be fun if we all compared how caring for our twins actually can hurt.

My contributions are:

RSI from initially, patting them to sleep, then from trying to feed them both quickly enough before they scream the house down
Pushing a twin pram, anywhere!
Doing school/kindy pick up and cant be bothered getting the pram out of the car, so carry them in your arms - resulting in dead arms!
Breasts that would make a prize dairy cow proud with what they can produce (except I am not the size of a dairy cow)
The most chronic sleep deprivation imaginable

(But I love them to bits!!!)

This is a sore spot for me at the moment. I have wound up in self pity over how my babies ruined my body but then I look at them and feel so stupid for ever uttering such things. They are so beautiful, and my body is amazing :) I gave birth to two healthy, full sized, amazing little girls at the same time :) Miraculous!

I want to give back to myself now. I really deserve it because of my body we have a beautiful family of 4 kids.

I have some real problems though in my body since having the girls that I need to address;I have abdominal muscle separation, which has made my back very vulnerable so I am constantly having a very sore back. I put on about 20 kilos due to shoveling anything into my mouth when the babies would let me. I was also house bound for around 2 years. I am about to start pilates to strengthen my core muscles and get on top of this.

What you said and

sheer exhaustion from running after them when they are both mobile.
Next to no personal upkeep due to lack of energy or time.

Should add to the tittle - how they wreck your body I and mind :D. Any shred of sanity I had left after my first 2 kiddies is GONE!!! I am a loon, I have the yukkiest stretch marks that mean no matter what weight I lost a bikini is NOT an option, ever. My back has never been the same, now b/f has dwindled I am beginning to worry about the saggy baggy boobs that will reach my belly button!
:babygirl::babyboy: but they ARE soooooo cute!!!!! even through the constant :duel: with each other and the older 2!!!

Yes, yes, brilliant idea. I had bad pelvic instability with my twins & so couldn't get to pilates, but I did practice the core tummy exrecises & although I had 5cm separation after birth it was back to no separation 2 months later with pilates. It's a wonderful thing. Also, if your local pool offers it, try deep water running, its wonderful for sore, damaged bodies.

Gah, forgot the abdo separation, having twins first has made this such a painful pregnancy!!

The lack of time and energy to try properly to lose weight is a bish too.

But they are totally worth it, they are too cute and do loving, even when they smear sudocream all over themselves and everything else!

I managed to not end up with an abdo separation, even measuring at 47 weeks but my skin has gone south. I never had a bikini body anyway but my poor belly will never recover. I stopped counting when I reached 100 stretchmarks :angryfists:
My back and pelvis click and clack (I had servere pelvis instability) and cause me pain most days
The constant bags and dark circles under my eyes, 18 months later and we still have sleep deprivation happening here!
The constant pain in the pregnancy was terrible. Im 24 weeks pregnant now and am amazed at how good I feel compared to my twin pregnancy.

Although I must say my arm strength has improved dramatically from lifting the massive pram and carrying 2 toddlers at the same time!
