I was told about one that some cultures believe in is that if you become more masculine looking (lose your looks i guess you could say!) then you are having a boy. This was told to me by a lady who predicted i would be having a boy when pregnant with my first (hmm, not really a compliment!) and i did!

If you are having a girl you become more feminine/prettier, i was told yesterday by another lady who is from the same culture that i was having a girl this time round.

Well i will find out hopefully tomorrow if she was right!!

Hey that's funny, about feminine masculine, I had a friend who just seemed to send waves of feminine energy, I think everyone just assumed she was having a girl because it was unfathomable that it would be a boy.

I craved savoury (or more, couldn't eat sweet) and had a boy.

I carried high and tight.... But that I'm sure had much more to do with being very fit and active during my pregnancy and being 20/21. My boss at the time was pregnant and she carried low and was big and she had a boy also. And she craved sweets. So disproved both ;)

According to a lot of old wives tales (heart rate, craving sweet/savoury etc) I would have assumed I was having a girl but so far 3 scans have confirmed a boy! So I do believe they really are just old wives tales! :$

Wow, the old wives tale about 'looking more feminine means girl' sounds interesting, my sis is UTD so I will pay attention to that one. As for me, a midwife told me my bubs had a heart rate which usually meant a girl, (she said in her opinion 75% chance of having a girl), but I had a boy. I also craved sweets which usually means girl too!

I was so sure I was having a boy because every wives tale said boy...but at my 20 week scan they said they were sure it was a girl....so in the end, I still think you are stuck with the 50/50 chance they could be right or wrong.

I can say though that the "Nub Theory" from my 12 week scan proved to be right. According to that, it was a girl...but I was still sure it was a boy.

DD1 i carried high and tight, only showing at 7 months. (age 21-22)

DD2 i carried very out front, was showing at 13 weeks. (age 25-26)

This bub, im barely showing at all (Im 23 weeks) And its a boy. (Age 27-28)

my looks didnt change at all with any of them.

So while i was young and fit with DD1, im older and definatly not as fit this time around.
