Birthing at Monash medical

Hi. Just wondered if anyone has had a baby at Monash Medical Centre in Clayton? We're thinking about baby no. 2 and that's my nearest birthing hospital.

Have many mums done shared care?

Hi Cathy,

I had my DS at Monash Clayton. Don't know what they are like with vaginal deliveries as I ended up having a c-sec, but I had no problems whatsoever. I have every intention of having my next there provided we live close enough then (even if we don't i'd still love to!). I also attended all my ante natel visits, ultrasounds and fetal monitoring there to... all staff that i encountered were absolutely fantastic and thorough. I chose Monash because I felt they were best equipped to deal with any situation that may arise. They offer various modes of care - I opted for midwife care but ended up seeing an ob each time due to hypertension and despite being public, mananged to get to see the same doc almost every time. pm me if you have any questions, i still have a bit of my paperwork lying around the house somewhere so can give you more details. i suggest going to a hospital tour - from memory, they run the first monday of each month- i think!
