Umbilical hernia

My DD has quite a large umbilical hernia. My paediatrician said that they don't operate on them any more as it will disappear on its own. Just wondering if anyone else has been given the same advice and when it disappeared.

My dd had one and I can't tell you exactly when it disappeared, but I can tell you that by the age of 4 she had a nice flat little "outy"!

My DS is 2 1/2 and his is almost gone

Hi Alanasmum!....my DS is 13 weeks & he also had one & I was given the same advise ffrom my Paed.

Has has actually just gone...I noticed it had disappeared the other night during his Post-bath "kicking jaunt", usually when he brings his legs up you could see it protrude, it wasn't there!

They are really nothing to worry about as far as I have been advised:)
