View Full Version : 10mths not interested in bottles at all...
Hi everyone... my DS is 10months now ans has been fully bottlefed since 18weeks... hes always been a huge milk drinker (only a month ago he was still having 6 bottles a day) hes just over 10kg and is perfect weight range according to the charts.
he was in daycare the other day and the lady told me when i got there that he hadnt had any bottles all day... i tried at home and he kept refusing... since then (last wednesday) he has had one bottle... he eats food well (6 big jars a day and 2 weetbix, and sandiwiches and snacks) (he has 150mls formula on his weetbix)
should i be worried about him refusing bottles? Do i just go with what he wants? he doesnt seem hungry not having bottles...
i would say to just go with wat he want, if he isnt interested in them dont force him, just be sure that he is having some water throu out the day, my ds is the same he hsa about 2 bottles aday now but only before he goes for a sleep
Have you tried using a spouted cup rather than a bottle?
He will handle this no probs at all. My dd was weaned straight from the boob to a sippy cup...give it a go.
thanks! iv tried sippy cup... tried everything.... he seems to be ok with not having any bottles, so ill just go with what he wants i think....

My ds#2 was exactly the same, loved his food but didn't want his milk after a little while of being on solids. I tried to get him to at least have a bedtime bottle and it didn't work he wouldn't take it so i didn't push the issue, he always had his formula in his weetbix etc but switched to using cow's milk in his food at about 8 months and around 10 months we gave away formula completely because it would sit in the cupboard and it would just get wasted everytime i made a bottle for him. He was eating his solids really well and i usually just gave him water to drink. Now he is 19 months and a big healthy boy, he still hates milk but i make sure i make up for the calcium he misses because he won't drink milk by giving him yoghurt and cheese etc.
thanks... hes drinking one bottle a day at the moment and has 150mls in his weetbix (so 330mls per day) but he seems ok with it, he drinks heaps of water, eats heaps and the dr has put him on a calcium suppliment (cos he cant have milk due to milk protein allergy)
