I'm reading this book at the moment and it has been a really interesting and mind opening experience:

http://sarahjbuckley.com/html/gentle-birth-gentle-mothering.htm (http://sarahjbuckley.com/html/gentle-birth-gentle-mothering.htm)

Its written by a woman who is a GP and so is her husband, and they decided to home birth their four children. She shares her knowledge about our natural hormones and what they do during birth to help us, her research about various interventions, her birth stories, and heaps of other stuff too.

This is a bio on the author:

(Oh I just thought of something, I didn't write the book, our same names are a coincidence  It's not self promotion!)

Hmm, it was working for me but I noticed it abbreviated some of the URL when I hyperlinked it. I edited and tried it again and this time its address appears in full so hopefully it'll work!

Thanks for that. Definitely something I want to look into for the next birth.
I had 3 natural births but they were in hospital....
