Ok I am border line here on Pre eclampsia. Swelling, BP up for what mine is normal but not bad yet (130/80) and protinen in my wee.
Is there any thing I can do to stop it?

I have to see the middies next week and then the ob the week after so ap's have been made more frequent.
My only other issues at the min are bubs is kinda half transverse with his head grinding into the top of my hip. And my tummy mussels parting (ohh the joys of big babies)

Depending on what your "normal" bp is, the 130/80 reading is pretty good. Its the bottom number they freak out about, if it gets closer to 100.

The protein is a problem though, did they say what stage?? ie. +1, +2 etc??

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop it  Keeping calm and relaxed will help your bp stay low, but there is nothing you can do regarding the protein.

I had it with 3 of my pregnancies and it sucks, as there is nothing you can do. I went to the OB as normal feeling on top of the world, and he would tell me how sick I was :heywhat:

Good luck, at least they are on to it for you :hugs:

It is normaly 110/60 so pretty low, the protien is +1. I am just hoping that my BP is just a once off. And really hoping that once school hols start it doesnt sky rocket with stress LOL.
I guess we will see next week how it all is.
Thanks Aya!! It helps to talk to others about it.
I never had swelling or any thing like this with the other two monsters

How scary for you. Just try to take it easy and hopefully it will improve. I had a similar thing at 37 weeks and DS was born at 40+5 (induced for this very reason). I was just told to have bed rest - yeah right! It was hard and I tried to nest in a slightly less frantic way lol I hope everything goes ok for you!

I had the same, and was on bed rest for the last 6weeks, so no solutions here!

LOL thanks ladies. I wish I could go on full be rest but cant cause of the older two munchkins. OB is ok to let me keep going, we will be talking about what happens on the 21st and I just have to have a midwife appointment in between then and now.

Asprin has been proven to remove the likeliness of PE. However I think it needs to be taken before there are signs. Having said that I wouldn't think a +1 result was a sign of PE. Normally they will send you for blood tests to check for those things anyway as the strips aren't 100% accurate

Asprin has been proven to help but once it's set in the only cure is delivery.

Bloods are more accurate than pee strips.

I had an emergency induction at 37+5 wks. Protein was +2 and BP 150/101. I had been borderline since 25 weeks. When I say borderline- protein was +1 and BP was averaging 145/95. I had checks every second day. I dunno if it was just my OB but he was reluctant to do anything before it was Definate. My ankles had rolls lol.
In the end he did a S&S to try and make labour begin naturally but the next day my cervix was way too soft so I had the induction.

Good luck!

getmesomeapppples, if you were induced at 35 weeks then you probably had eclampsia not pre eclampsia, my ob explained that people dont realise that pre eclampsia is the before stage.

I had eclampsia and hellp syndrome, i had to have an emergency csection because my liver and kidneys were failing then was in ICU for 4.5 days and my brain swelled. There is nothing you can do to slow it, i constantly am told i should have stopped working but my ob told me that it would have done nothing, its in my jeans.

Thanks ladies. Going well (well kinda LOL) 2 weeks left to go and BP back to my normal lvl YAY.
It wasnt just the protiene they were looking at. It was swelling etc.
Still got the wonderful swelling but meh as long as my bp and all that is fine they are happy.

yeah i was told by the hospital to which i was flown it was eclampsia i to was in icu & my liver was failing etc but then when I got home they still called it pre eclampsia?! different drs, different stories =\

My Dr with this pregnancy said it maybe just the fact my body doesnt like pregnancy like the baby is a forgein object my body fights off. Was hoping this time around it would be alot different!!! :-(

check the discharge info they gave you, it will have a summary on it. Are you sure you didnt have hellp as well? The liver and kidney failure is because of hellp. I've got between a 1:5 to 3:5 chance of it happening again and worse with me either having brain damage or dying.

When you were in icu and afterwards were you on magnesium sulfate getmesomeapppples?
