So DD2 is doing really well with her toilet training. We're down to only needing 1 nappy a day for sleep times and occasionally when we go out shopping.

Since shes doing so well im thinking about having to get the nappys ready for when DS needs them at about 8 weeks old.

How would i go about washing them ready for storage for a few months? Im 20 weeks pregnant now so it'll be about 7 months before they're in full use again.

I only have the ebay cheapies that have the 2 liners that go inside the pocket and ive had no problems with them for the last 18months that DD had been using them.

Currently i just seperate the 3 parts and put them in the machine on a cold wash with a bit of detergent.

I'll obviously be keeping a few out for DD to keep using but since she has 40 we dont really need that many anymore.

*bumpy bump you old thread, you*

So i now have this question too  DS is outgrowing his BBH mediums so I'm moving him up to the large, and want to store the mediums away. I'll be TTC in the bext few months so it could be 12 months or more until they're used again.

does anyone have the little booklet that you get from BBH when you buy the minkee fitted AIOs? I SWEAR i read in that booklet how to prepare nappies for storage but i can't find the booklet and it's not on their website

This is what the BBH book says....

"If storing nappies, please be aware that sometimes elastic can deteriorate based on conditions such as humidity and location, and unfortunately we cannot guarantee that nappy elastic will survive long periods of storage. We recommend making sure nappies are completely dry before storage, storing them in a sealable box with acid-free tissue paper and a moisture absorber, and bringing them out for a quick wash and dry at least every 12 weeks. This will be the best way to keep the elastic from going brittle."

I was thinking of using space bags, what do u guys think?

i just got an email from BBH and they basically said what the book says, but said to put them in a sealed cardboard box lined with acid free tissue paper with some lavendar to deter bugs and things. I don't think a space bag is a good idea, i think they need to be somewhere they can "breathe"
now the next question is: where can I get acid free tissue paper?

Maybe try an arts/craft shop. If they don't have it they should be able to tell u where u can get it.

Would a drycleaner have acid-free tissue?

i tried riot art, they only had acid free paper for photos, so little A4 sheets which cost a bomb. They suggested lincraft/spotlight so i'm going to try there next
