DD 6.5 months old and I think she is teething.. Hoping someone can help me out here.. she is throwing up quiet alot in the last few days after her milk feeds and sometimes after her solids. She has really gone off her food which isn't like her and super irritable and whingy/grizzley. Although I can't see any teeth appearing but her gums feel smooth. I have been using the SM 33 teething gel but it doesn't seem to help, although panadol does.

She is currently on 15 mg of Losec per day. Tablet - suspension wasn't stable enough. 5 mg morning 10 mg evening.

I have heard teething can really flare up reflux.. anybody have any thoughts on this? thanks

DS went through the same thing and panadol was the only thing that helped.

He also had a urine infection as well though and we now know he is prone to them, so we need to look out for fevers and can't always assume it's reflux or teeth.

So as long as her temperature is not raised too much, I'd say the teeth are not helping the reflux. I think the reason it happens is something to do with the enzymes in their mouth change when they teeth which can also change the enzymes in their tummies which can make reflux worse. I have heard this theory and it makes sense - although I don't know if it is true!

I cant offer any help with the reflux side of things. But I did find that Bauers Teething Relief was great for the boys when they were teething. Its natural too, so you dont need to be so worried about giving it to them. :hugs:

Yep  teething definitely flares reflux. Pain relief will help, at around that age my DS2 needed an increase in meds due to teething and crawling. I also purchased a hazlewood necklace which helps with both teething and reflux. It saved my sanity.
Good luck

You bet it does.

DS is cutting his molars at the moment, its gotten to the point that that we've upped his meds to 20mg losec daily & 6ml zantac daily

Thanks ladies.. DD doesn't have temp, however I am keeping a sharp eye on this. She is also wearing her Amber necklace today which seems to help suprisingly.. but she constantly has the WORST hiccups.. poor might and pulling those little ears..

If she's pulling at her ears, I be getting them check in case there infected which will cause reflux to flare up.
