Yes, TJ, I took it to conceive DD. The only side effect I had was prob foul moods....but hey..... I'm like that before AF anyway :D I was also only on a very low dose (15mg). They tend to start you off on a low dose and increase it if there is no success.

I conceived second pgy naturally, but when I did a BT recently to see if I had Od, they could'nt tell me...I know sounds stoopid. However, my charts show i have Od. So I don't really know at the end of the day...thats why I'm not waiting around anymore, I'm just going to go ahead and start Clomid. I have a feeling I will conceive again second cycle, like I did with DD!

Well I'm so excited for both of us for tomorrow. I'll be looking forward to hearing about your dr's appointment! Good luck :hugs:

My GP seems to think im not O'ing. I have a FS appt tomorrow morning, so come tomorrow night ill know what the go is!

Hey TJ... no...I guess it can't do too much harm if you are oing.......
One of my good friends had "unexplained infertility" they were tracking her cycles and telling her and her DH exactly when to BD..... she was Oing on her own.... however, they wern't successful. So they did IUI (Inserted her DH's sperm straight into her uterus) it worked 2nd go. They were going to put her on Clomid if she hadn't of fallen pg as even though she was Oing on her own, Clomid would most likely make her release more than one egg and thus increase chances of sperm meeting at least one egg!!!!

make sure you take your charts with you tomorrow. Your specialist will most likely do a few BTs and then depending on the results, get you on the pill for about 2 weeks to bring on a fake period as you have just finished one.Let us know how you go. (Thats if he puts you on Clomid)

B'smum- Good luck with your appt on Thursday...i know how exciting it can be! I think its because it makes you feel like you are "doing" something to help make conception occur with the assistance of professionals, so you feel like your chances of BFP will be higher :yes: Let us know how you go too!!! How exciting! Can't wait to start "TTC with Clomid thread"! :smiliedance:

Hey girls...

Well the FSs called me just then in relation to my BTs this morning. They said that my estrogen levels are still high for it to be my "real period" so they don't want me starting Clomid tomorrow. The nurse i spoke to asked a few times if I was sure i was due for my period? They want me to wait till Thursday and do another BT to see how my levels are. She said there may be a cyst causing the bleeding but I told her that I had had a m/c 3 months ago and she said that that might be why my hormones are still out of whack?? :confused: She told me not to worry and that its just a little hiccup, nothing to be too concerned about. She said if my levels havn't sorted themselves out by Thursday they will do an U/S to see if there is any cyst lurking around. She said if there isn't then they will get me to start Clomid. They just don't want to risk me taking it when I could still possibly be coming up to O?? I told her I am due for my period...but oh well, I'll have to wait till Thursday. I'm so glad I decided to go to the FS again, at least this way I know exactly what is going on with me.

So now I have to wait till Thursday........I have a feeling this TTC business is going to take some time! :mad:

I feel so :barf: today to top things off!

OH CMD - so sorry to hear that - well we can still hopefully be CLOMID buddies come the end of the week.

i posted this in my diary and also in Sep but will post again

well well well..... after waiting over 50 mins in the waiting room, i finally got in to see the FS,
He was soo lovely, a really nice and caring kinda guy.

We spoke for a bit about my history and my cycles and then did an internal u/s ( yucko) and yep both my ovaries are covered, absolutly covered with cysts.
He did mention that it is more than likely PCOS - i was surprised to find out that 23% of woman actually have it, and a further 6% have symptoms of it, but arent diagnosed with it!
So i walked away with a bunch of info, a script for Clomid, and started my first pill today.
Have to go back next wednesday for another internal u/s to see if i have O'd and he'll then let me know which days i should be BD'ing, and then will come back again a short time after that.

So all in all i feel pretty relieved that i now have some answers and that it SHOULD be pretty easy to fix.

He said he would be surprised if i wasnt preg in 3-4 months time, and if im not then he will have to run some tests (cant remeber the proper names, but basically stick something in my belly button) and see if my tubes are blocked, he thinks that this may be due to a previous termination.

But so this is CD5, and day 1 of clomid, and i alreay feel like i have cotton wool mouth - very annoying, but if it wil get me preg, then im happy with that!!

Well AF arrived for me today. :gloomy: TJ can you please put me down for testing on the
6th October. My cycle has changed to 31 days so will leave it at that

My doc said that I have to go back and see him at the 6th month of TTC and he will prescribe clomid for me as well (at least I think it was clomid...something to help me ovulate that has a high risk of multiple pregnancies?) Wish he didn't keep such detailed records because I can't fib about how long it has been :o oh well

However, your charts seem to show you are Oing..... oh but who bloody knows, so do mine, and from BT results, I'm just not too sure anymore! So, no more temping for me, don't need that added stress of whether my temp will come up, go down, stay the same, turn around, touch the sky......... you get my point

Well Girls, It looks like I will be joining you.

I am now spotting so I think I will have AF arrive later today or tonight.

At least my cycle is starting to go back to normal (from 44 days to 34 days)

So I think I will be testing again on the 10th of October.

Hi Ladies,
Well i had my doctors Appointment today and im really pleased with the outcome, She thinks i may not be Ovulating at all so shes booked me in for ultrasound on the 22nd september to see if i have PCOS and sent a letter to a Gyno but that will take awhile to get it to him.
I feel like a big weight has been lifted on my shoulders:smiliedance:
so now we can go back to BD'n for fun and not have to worry bout when i O,
So i dont think ill be testing this month but still put me down for the 30th TJ u never know it may still happen

Hi TJ,
Could you please add me to the list. Not 100% sure of the date so i'll say the 17th. My cycle has been a bit weird lately, is usually 26 - 28 days, was only 24 last month which arrived on August 15th and only lasted 2 days. Going by Maybe Baby I Ovulated on CD 21 so am a bit confused at the moment.

Only 2 more sleeps to go, will find out on wednesday when we should get Bd'ing.
Neg opk for the last 3 days but i have expected that - he said i SHOULD O between 6-12 after the last clomid tablet (which was friday) so probably next weekend im guessing. So im only JUST going to make it into Sep testing, but i depending on what 'symptoms' im having or lack there of, i might hold out until Oct.... who knows!!

Lorren...yes there are a few of us who have been trying for almost a year.

Try not to stress and worry about your first AF, she will make her appearance (she always manages to somehow! :D)

I got my first AF almost 6 weeks after my D&C (May this year). :fingerscrossed: you get your BFP next cycle!

Hi Lorren, don't lose hope. We were ttc for 10 months when we got our BFP. DH used to sit on the couch at the weekends sighing "I wish we had a baby", so I know what you're going through. It was hard to hear him say that, it just reinforced the fact that we weren't getting pg.

Exactly - I do feel like I'm letting him down even if he is 100% supportive.

Especially when the doctors say that the most probable reason for my miscarriage was that the baby didn't attach to the lining properly, or wasn't getting supported by the lining. In other words I didn't work!

Really who knows what happened - just another example of unsupportive doctors!! Boy I could write a novel on bad doctor experiences. :ecomcity:

Yep, I know what you mean about the docs. We m/c in January and they were no help, just sort of said "It happens", but I never really knew why.

My DH is very supportive too and he seriously doesn't know the punch those little comments pack, he just says things that pop into his head. It's hard not taking it on board cos you sooo want to give them what they want, but yeah it's hard not to take it personally. Hope you guys get your BFP soon, I'm sure it's not too far away :thumbsup:

Try to stay positive. They say that it takes on avergae 5 sycles to get pg. This is what I keep repeating to myself anyway.

We know how you feel. Feel free to vent here. That's what we're for.

ill fill you in on how my FS appt went today.
well i rocked up early feeling really nervous and anxious.
only waited about 5-10 mins, went in jumped straight up onto the u/s table.
He did an internal u/s and said there is one HUGE focile there waiting, he said i had responded well to the clomid.
He then gave me a few options,
A) i could go away and have sex for the next X amount of days and hope things work and that i do end up O'ing.
B) he could give me an injection which will make me O tomorrow and i can come back in for IUI (see http://www.conceivingconcepts.com/learning/articles/IUI.html if you dont know what that is)

so i chose B:smiliedance:

I went off got my shot and Hubby has an appt for tomorrow at 11.00am to make his 'deposit' - do his thing in a cup basically. They then separate the good sperm from the bad sperm.

I then have my appt at 1.00pm tomorrow where they will insert the good sperm into my uterus.

the FS thinks that we have a REALLY REALLY good chance at falling preg this cycle.
I am SOOO SOOO SOOO excited, im trying soo hard to control my self as i dont want this to end in tears and dissapointment.

I came home and did an OPK just to make sure they were telling me the truth:rolleyes: and that i will O tomorrow

My appt went great today, it was nothing to be stressed or worried about at all.
Hubby had his appt at 11.00am to leave his "deposit"
He said that all went well (hahah)
I then had my appt at 1.00pm, i went in they made me sign some paper work, and they showed me the form for hubby's sperm count, 20million is classed as good so anything over that is fantastic, hubby had 42million!!:eek:
So he just thinks he is the bees knees, and is walking around all "manly" Im so glad that he is ok, least they can give me drugs or whatever to make me O, but you cant do much about dodgy sperm, so thats such a MAJOR relief.

The nurse was the one who did the IUI today, she inserted a catheta (sp) into my cervix and then injected the sperm into it, which in turn went up into my uterus.
I sorta spasim (sp) a little as she injected it, not like orgasim spasim, but my legs went all tingly. She said that was normal.
It didnt take any more than 4 mins, she then said i was free to lay there as long as i liked, but the sperm wouldnt make its way back out so to speak. Onces its in your uterus its in there.

So she said if i havent got AF come this time in 2 weeks, to do a HPT - but of course i was thinking to my self ill be doing a few prior to that.

So it was painless and easy, now just onto the dreded 2ww!!!:smiliedance:

Only 11 more days til October everyone! They should rename TTC just the WAITING GAME - does anyone else feel like all they ever do is wait?!!

Anyway, last weekend when AF arrived was enough for me - I am sick of the waiting game - so went to see my lovely GP last night and told her I was sick of the waiting. She thought 6 months at 32 was enough, and referred me to a specialist. I explained that while i knew "it was just a matter of time" as all those helpful people keep telling me, I would be VERY annoyed if there was something I could have been doing differently and I waited any longer. She also booked me in for a pelvic ultrasound before I see the specialist, so we are all ready to go when i see her for the first time (in mid Oct), as she said that would be the first thing she advised anyway.

We've done the natural thing - bring on the medical assistance I say!

:yes: :yes: I agree with you girls. Thats why I went to see my specialist too, however i do have PCOS though. I though after conceiving naturally earlier this year I'd be able to do it again. Then after 3 cycles, I thought, what if I'm NOT Oing and putting myself through this every month?

Anyway, hope you all get a BFP before any intervention is needed...........hey you can always join our TTC with Clomid thread.....:p ...nah am sure you will get your BFPs in NO time!:yes:

i have been useing ovulation calender that i download u just put in how long your cycle is and the first day af start and it works out when you will O it worked for me last time i got a bfp yeah and u do have to make beding fun or or it becomes like house work u dont want to do it

I have pretty regular 28 day cycles, and last time we just BDed regularly, but more between CD9 and CD 16. Last month we did it EVERY DAY between CD10 and CD18, and still no BFP!!!! Just not my time I guess.

We're doing a 2 on, 1 off this month. By the end of last month I was so over it, and it wasn't fun anymore. You never know, this may work. If not, I'm temping and OPKing next month.

I was chatting with my SIL last night, and she had probs conceiving her first 2. She OPKed and temped, and even with her regular cylces, she said that O was all over the place. Well I was questioning when I Oed BEFORE I spoke to her. Now I have NO IDEA!!!!!

I have been trying to stay off BH and not stress so much about this whole TTC but am failing miserably!!! I try to stay off but the siren call of BH calls me back everytime :D

feeling a little down...my best friend has just told me that she is pregnant. I am over the moon happy for her but sad for me because we have been trying for around the same amount of time....sigh.... feel like a b*tch because I am up and down about... Anyone else gone through this?

things are ok with me, found out i have PCOS, was put in clomid, and had first cycle of IUI (basically artificial insemination) a week ago now. So now its only a 1ww.
Feeling ok, no "symptoms" yet tho.

I can sympathise. Last month my SIL decided that she wanted a 4th child, and got pg first go. I am trying to be happy, but I'm also feeling like it's not fair. They're already got 3...what about the rest of us? I know how lucky I am to have my one, but.........

One of my mother's group mums is due anyday, and if she has a boy, I think i'll find it hard when I see him (if its a boy that is, she didn't find out the sex) as I m/c a boy in May. Plus we were due close together and had chosen the same boy name.:( I also found out one of my really good friends is pg and although I'm over the moon for her, its hard for me to always talk about her pgy and baby stuff...... but I love her heaps and she deserves it. They were trying for two years....I just keep reminding myself this!

He didnt say quite how bad it was, but from the internal u/s he did say both ovaries were covered in lots of small cysts.
The strange thing is, i dont have any of the typical symptoms, the only things were having irregular cycles, and not ovulating and thats it.
AF was always light and never painful.

Im ok about it, he is a great specialst and very very proactive, so far so good and am on the right track to a BFP - hopefully......:rolleyes:

They keep telling me "you fell preg on your own in the past, there is no need for fertility drugs now" and "your stressing probably caused the cysts on your ovaries":

Would be lovely if they would leave us alone!!!!:hugs: about your irregular/late/missed periods!! It is frustrating.. two cycles ago I had the craziest one I have ever had. I am always bang on 28 days and all of a sudden got thrown a 42 day cycle with all the mind games that go with it. I too ended up getting a blood test etc done. Drove me crazy. However now my cycles are slowly coming back to normal. :fingerscrossed: that your cycles sort themself out!

I'm so anxious that this is our month too, when I fell pg with DD we weren't even looking at the 'right time' for conception or anything, so now that I understand how it all works I'm even more anxious for this time cos it's really such a hit and miss thing isn't it!!:D and oh how the time drags when you're waiting to test!!!!

Hi all - glad to see we are all still alive and well in the October thread - only five more sleeps til the month kicks off!

I mentioned last week that I had got a referral and appointment to an infertility specialist. Also decided to go all out and see a natural fertility specialist as well, at a clinic called Fertile Ground that specialises in fertility. (recommended by another BubHubber who had success!)

The chinese doctor I saw had some interersting things to say about my cycle - the fact that it was 40 days could be affecting my chances apparently - that and the colour of AF and some other things. She has put me on a course of treatment (herbs and acupuncture) to try and shorten the length of my cycles, so that everything is 'fresh' each month and the egg has a nice healthy, nutricious home to burrow into.

So away we go with this stuff, and on to the western medicine appointment also in two weeks - wil be intererested to see what the other Dr has to say.

Does this sound like overkill?!

Well Girls I'm back - I haven't posted for a while as we have been trying to sort out our big move to Brissy. I will now officially be moving to Victoria Point so if any of you wonderful people live near there I would love to hear from you (I know no-one and I mean no- one at all in Brissy.)
DP and I flew up on Thursday to go house hunting without DS. (the first time for a long time we have been away from him for even one night.) We stayed in a lovely hotel (thanks to work :D .) And had plenty of baby dancing. (forgot my thermometer so I have no Idea of temps) - Did not even think about TTcing while we were away. - we got back yesterday and I thought I would do an O test tonight - (last minute thought.). OOOOH my god I have got the darkest line I have ever seen. So I will be ravishing DP again tonight:laughing: . - If the amount of Bding you do increases your chances then I just have to be PG this month. (It was almost like a honeymoon.)

Ok, So AF isn't due till 10 October, but today I've been getting cramps and little twinges in my lower abdomen...it feels like everytime I go to the toilet I'm gonna find that AF has arrived!:confused: I've been feeling pretty crappy today too....but not sure what it is. As I haven't really taken much notice of pre AF before I'm not sure if I normally get this around this time, but don't think that I do....Hmmm guess only time will tell hey!

Today I had my blood test and ultrasound. I have 7 follicles at the moment (3 on one side and 4 on the other) but I suspect my hormone levels are still low. I have been injecting 150 units of Puregon for 5 days and the clinic have upped my dose to 225 units from Tuesday (CD8) and I go back for another ultrasound and blood test on Friday (CD11).

:fingerscrossed: my follicles grow nice and big and we can stay on track for this month. If this month is not to be, at least we can go into next month a little more educated in how my body is working.

Hey Marselsmum.... i live in crestmead, your about 45mins from me, i use to drive over there while i was pg with DD. My sister lives that way as well, PM if you want to meet up one day, we could do a play date, but once your settled of course.

Could some one tell me about these follicles?

Follicles are found in your ovaries in the first half of your cycle. Normally you would only produce 1 or 2 follicles which mature into eggs. Because I am on IVF my body is being stimulated to produce more follicles so we have more eggs to play with.

Hope this makes sense.

my report said ", the largest follicle measuring 18mm x 16mm being located on the left ovary. The left ovary has a volume of 11.2cc. The rigt ovary has a volume of 5.9cc and contains follicles up to 10.9mm in diameter."

The report came back all clear, but i assume that they are good follicles?
Does anyone have any idea why the volume is so different? Im not worried just curious, my dr didn't know either

I've had more symptoms today. More tenderness and discomfort, really like bad ovulation pain. Silly me did some lifting at work and felt like my ovaries were going to explode - must get the guys to do that over the next few days.

Feeling really positive now that I am feeling some symptoms/side effects.

I'm no Charting guru, but I know my chart is also really odd this cycle:confused: . - Your chart doesn't look too bad - is it that dip below the coverline that is worrying you?

- I figure the more different my chart looks from last month the better, cause last month I wasn't pregnant so maybe just maybe those differences mean I am.:D Wishful thinking I know.

- How are you feeling at the moment? I just know it has to be your turn soon.

I have tried messing with the temps and no matter what i put in it won't move my O date from 18 (which is fine because we might have got the timing right!) it is just the weird below the coverline temps and then quite bigs rises that are driving me crazy!! I think that a drop at 5DPO would be too early for implantation?

ladies looks like i might be here to share another heart wrenching month with you all.

All pretty negative news on my front this morning.
* Temp went down
* BFN
* Tinged CM when checking CP this morning

So come tomorrow morning the stupid f%@#ing b@#%h will be here.
at the moment im ok about it, i suppose it hasnt really set in that this cycle might be over. I mean it still MIGHT not be, but then again all the signs arent overly promising at all.

The fact that i get to share it all with you wonderful women makes it that little bit easier to cope!! :hugs:

DH and I have been TTC for 2 months and I am currently 10 DPO. Was planning on doing a HPT on the weekend, but I have a funny feeling that AF is about to arrive :( - noticed I have been getting my normal PMS symptoms.

Yep know exactly what you mean... I am being eaten alive by the green eyed monster myself at the moment... I am sure I will get over it just can't see my bestie for a few days until I get it all under control. I am so happy for her but cranky for myself!

So sorry for you TJ, I have been following your Diary and felt almost as bad as you when I read of your AF arriving. :fingerscrossed: This month is it.
It's amazing how caught up you get in peoples journey's on here, so many stories, so happy for PL finally having a bub stick and so many others this past month wih BFP's, am so happy for them (if not a tad jealous hehe).
I have a good feeling about this month for some reason, maybe I am setting my self up for a fall, ah well!!

This month is going to be a big month girls lots of BFP's!!!!!!

Nax and Kirst.....know how you girls feel! A very good friend of mine came around today and took me "baby stuff" shopping. She is 12 weeks pg. I'm completely excited for her (they had been trying for 2 years) but it was hard seeing other pg women and baby products..........feels like its NEVER going to happen!!

Gosh can't beleive I've only got 7 days of the pill to go.......... I really hope my levels are good so I can start Clomid. If they tell me that they arn't.........I'm gonna tell them to F*@#! off and I'm going to forget about it this whole TTC thing!:laughing: who am I trying to kid?:o

Well, I had another blood test and ultrasound yesterday. Not the best news unfortunately :crying: . My left ovary now has 5 follicles (1 big beauty, 2 smaller and 2 smaller still), while the right as 3 follicles all not worth measuring (in the Dr's words). I have been emotionally up and down all yesterday but am trying to not let it ruin my long weekend. I have to go back for another ultrasound on Monday (public holiday here in WA), so I am hoping the 2 middle sized follicles will catch up to the big one. :fingerscrossed: egg retrieval will go ahead and maybe we can still get a good number of eggs.

Anyway, not going to dwell on it too much today as there is a football game to concentrate on!!

Hi gals, I'm joining this thread too. No oidea of testing date as yet, still waiting for AF to show after a BFN BT. I think one of the most frustrating things is having NO idea of your cycle! grr!!

Welcome to October ladies. :fingerscrossed: this is a good month for all of us.

I'm moving over from September as i'm still waiting for AF to arrive.
I've had anything from 27, 29 and 32 day cycles of late (well, last month 32 days for first time) so have no idea when AF is due.

Today is CD 30. I think i'll test on Tuesday (CD32) if she hasnt arrived.

This is also officially 12 months of TTC this month.

I've promised myself I won't test, or worry about 'symptoms' etc - i'll just wait till 32 days and see what happends.

Good luck to you all and congrats to all those September BFPs!!

I've had a very :gloomy: night, despite West Coast winning by 1 pt.

Hubby & I went to bed last night and after some wonderful, no stress "you know what" I burst into tears :crying: . This whole IVF thing is starting to get to me - the injections, the way it is so clinical, the wondering what is happening with my follicles/ovaries etc. Anyway, I had a cry, fell asleep for a few hours, then lay there awake for two hours. After dozing back to sleep for a little while I woke up, did the morning ritual with my injections and went back to bed, only to get upset again.

I feel like I am starting to lose my positive outlook on our TTC journey, which won't help matters I'm sure. :(

Its horrible isn't it... these emotional ups and downs. My SIL and best friend are both on IVF and told me how much the injections/ hormones affected their moods - on top of the natural stress and sadness of the whole process.

you probably know already, but it does pass. try to hang in there - i'm sure it will happen for you soon.

we are all here for you if you want to vent.

Well i'm a bit :crying:
AF showed up half an hour ago. I tried so hard not to get my hopes up again - goodness know i should have learnt my lesson by now, but there is always that glimmer till she shows.

Came into the bedroom crying and DH gave me a big long hug and is cooking me dinner now.

Sorry TJ to be the first BFN/AF for October. Bad karma to set you guys off on such a bad start.

We have our first appt with the fertility specialist on the 17th so hopefully we'll get some answers. After 12 months of this i'm pretty over this whole TTC thing. :gloomy:

good to have you guys to talk to tho.

We have to beat last month's record of 17 BFPs!

Leanne..... I have everything crossed that those follicles have matured and that this will be your first and last cycle of IVF...... It may just be! When I was on my second cycle of Clomid to conceive DD, my hormones were all over the shop and the FSs thought I wasn't going to O, but I did, late in tne cycle and we conceived our DD. Just hang in there hun, I know you've heard this before but these things usually happen when you least expect them!
