Can anyone recommend any books dealing with toddler discipline (compatible with AP)? DS is 14 months and we don't have any troubles yet but I'm wanting to get in with a consistent approach now. I bought Toddler Tactics by Pinky McKay and although I loved the philosophy of the book and many of the tips I found the section on discipline too small and that it outlined well what not to do but gave little practical help for what to do.

Cheers and Merry xmas:santa:

I found the "No Cry Discipline solution" by Elizabeth Pantley helpful with practical examples.

The other book I like for an underlying philosophy along with Toddler Tactics is "Children are People too" by Louise Porter.

Hi there

"Heart to Heart Parenting" by Robin Grille is fantastic! He provides suggestions and examples - def recommend it!

Also "The Science of Parenting" by Margot Sunderland has a good section that is helpful on toddlers/gentle guidence.

Finally "Raising our Children, Raising ourselves" by Naomi Aldort apparently is very good. I got it out of the library today - plan to start reading it asap.

Hope this helps :)

I use "Children Are People Too" by Dr Loiuse Porter.

I guess you would call me an 'attachment' parent seeing as I still breastfeed and cosleep with my nearly 4 year old (and his dad also cosleeps with him when he stays there on the weekends). A lot of other members here use the principles in this book, it is very good.
