How often?

I feel so silly asking this but my youngest DD is almost 10 weeks and has just started having formula full time, was previously having EBM... well shes gone from doing #2's a tiny bit every 3-4 days to now doing HEAPS twice a day...

is that normal?!

My elder DD was formula fed from 14 weeks but I dont recall her having such a huge change like this!

:yes: once to twice is normal for formula fed babies.

My DD did the opposite to yours actually - she was doing a poo a few times a day when on breast milk and now goes only once every 1-2 days on formula.

I would give your little one's system a bit of time to get used to the formula though. As long as she's not having problems with it being too runny or constipated (TMI?!), I don't think there are any hard and fast rules about how often they should go.

My kids have all tended to have constipation issues on formula, too.

If the no. 2's smell a bit funny or it keeps on like this, I'd check out whether your little one may have an allergy to formulas based on cows milk. One of my brothers and the child of a friend were and their only sympton were really runny poos.

You're an experienced mum and you'll have a gut feeling about what's normal for your kids.

:yes: really big runny poo's twice a day is absolutly normal for a 10wk old. Dakota was the same at that age, now at almost 15 weeks old she's doing it once a day. So :fingerscrossed: Sav will be like that.

my ds is 8months and always done beteen 1 and 2 a day

a change of type and frequency is definitely normal when switching between breast and formula.

When DS was born the Midwife told us as far as poos go "10 a day, or 1 every 10 days - anything in between is normal"
