hi all,
just wondering how u protected ur new born from mozzies and sandflies? we are renting and some of our screens are pretty dodgy and theres other places the little critters can get in, i was just wondering what other mums did to stop the little ones being eaten alive?
We're very lucky we had a meat safe cot in Angus's family.
Angus fixed it up and replaced all the screens. It's perfect as our screens are quiet dodgey too. And we can wheel it around during Summer if we want it outside. It's roomy so don't feel like we're locking Hugh in a jail cell.

I'm told the plug-in style insect repellants are very good too. I haven't needed to use one, but friends have given these

Obviously this isn't going to be the ONLY thing you do - but I've read that mozzies are attracted to the colour blue, so don't use blue bedding or pj's

What a great cot Kazza.. i would feel weird putting my bubz in it for some strange reason. :D
I also heard that the plug in thingys are great.. never used one but heard good reports.

Thanks Lauren.
I was a bit weird about it too when Angus was fixing it up- it was his as a baby- thinking might be claustrophobic but Angus pointed out where the baby would be coming from would be more claustrophobic:laughing:

mozzies are issue in hanoi. and some of them carry the dengue fever. so we use a mozzie net over spencer's cot and when he goes outside i cover him with rid. the little mongrels still manage to find a spare bit of skin though:mad:
Thanks for posting the photos of your meat safe cot, I had one when I was a bub and have been going out of my mind trying to find one for our baby. At least now I have a starting point and maybe I can get one made based on your photos!

Is normal mozzie repellent safe for bubs and toddlers, I've seen some kids stuff around and wondering if it is any different.
