View Full Version : Who will have your other kids?

While your DH/SO is with you while you are giving birth, who will be looking after your other kids??

I'm hoping my inlaws can have the older two, but I think Matthew will be a bit much for them because of my SIL (Down Syndrome and Autistic). I'm undecided as to whether or not he will go with them, or if a friend of mine could have him for the day. But she has 3 kids of her own, her youngest will be 13mths old, so it might be a bit much.


Just hoping that Matthew gets out of this cling-on stage or he will end up being there for the bith, LOL.

Either my DH's folks or, if I'm REALLY lucky, I'll be able to convince my Mum to come down here prior to the birth so she can look after them and come and see the new baby straight away. It's tough with interstate family. But, my mother and father in law are terrific and I have no doubts they will pitch in and come here and be with the girls. Plus, I have an assortment of great friends who I'm sure will be able to pitch in at a pinch.

Definitly my parents.

I am having a cesar so they will have DD for probably the 7 days I am at the hospital.

I think DH would like to take her home at night, but then he would have to go right out of his way in the morning to drop her back off.

So yep they will have to have her.

They will love having her!

Mum & Dad while I gave birth then dropped him up to say hi to bub, then good family friend for the rest of the day, then hubby mostly had him with the occasional visit to aunt or pa...

not sure yet, my parents and inlaws both live over an hour away from us, so not sure how that will go if I go into labour in the middle of the night again, like I did with the other two. I do have a friend that lives up the road that I think would come over, and on really short notice, I think my neighbour might be able to come over until someone else comes over anyway.

Either my inlaws, they dont mind at all or if during the night will probably be my brother and sister in law. My mum wants to be at the birth of this one as she missed my last son being born.
