Im so so tired I must still be sick from the flu or :( .... you know what....
My DH and TTC I think I could be there are SYMPTOMS.... at least I hope Iam
My DH's dad is so contradicting yesturday morning he said to DH "that back in his day" people wernt having babies because of material posessions being important and the fact that people should have baby's because of the joy and everything... and thats what we think!
We have evrything under control.... we think..
Id rather go without buying make up and nice clothes just so we could have a baby!!!!!!!
Then in the afternoon DH's dad told DH he is too young and should wait to be in the house that we just brought for a while before?????? Its so hard because DH tells me these things and I get upset because there is a big possibility Iam PG.
I was just wondering how everybody copes ie,Money and 1income and stuff, Im setting up my own business so it should'nt be that bad Im a hairdresser and nail tech and know heaps of ways to make money....
I think I just needed someone to talk to....and
then there is DH mother who always voices her opinion about us NOT having a baby!
RRRR
Please somebody calm me down

Its easy to say, but try not to let them upset you. Its completely up to you and your husband as to when you start having children. Its no-one elses business!
Feel free to email or PM me if you want to vent!! :)
I swear if I hear 'Back in my day' one more time from my mother (who thinks she's trendy - ha) I'm going to explode. It's gotta be the most infuriating comment ever. (Mental note NEVER to say that when I'm old and grey)
Don't stress too much, people always put their 2 cents worth in. Unfortunately it's about 2 dollars worth in my family! You just do what is right for you.
We married, got pregnant straight away, bought a house, renovated half of it and moved in all in one year (last year) and we're still sane......sort of. Yes, it was challenging but we coped. I'm sure you will too, it's just hard when your hormones are zipping all over the place and you feel sensetive. :)

Hello!
I would try not to let them get to you. Parents, all parents, just love espousing their views on things, and having children is no different!! I would let them talk away, nod your head in the right places, say yes a few times, but really be listening to something else. I wouldn't let it affect you.
Basically you guys are two adult people, who are making choices for yourseleves, just like your dh's parents did when they were at this age. If you are pg, then that is bloody brilliant news!! You should be happy about it, and bugger off to the rest of them!
You can't live your lives according to someone elses timeline!
As for coping with the money issue - honestly it scares the hell out of me sometimes thinking I may not be able to afford it. But then I think - I am not going to not have kids for that reason! I would never have them if I was always thinking I couldn't afford it. I think that this is one that you have to deal with when you get to it, and no amount of preparation will help. You will never sink but always swim I believe when it comes to kids! Reason I think this is because people have been doing it that way for eons! Plus you have your beautiful children as assets!
I don't know if I have helped.
Hope your afternoon gets better!
K
P.S. I am in Canberra Too! There seem to be a few of us!! I am in Banks now (just moved from Gordon!) So just around the corner from you!

Don't they just annoy the crap out of you  I have just learnt to tune most people out now.
As for the income side of things, we learnt to adjust. We went from a 2 income family to a one and we survive. Its not easy but we cope.
Good luck with everything

Hi Shinebrite,
My mum was TOTALLY against me and Dh having children. She "didn't want to be a grandma". It wasn't until I explained to her that us wanting children had nothing to do with making her a Grandma but making us parents that she at least stopped telling me not to have children. She still wasn't convinced until we had Harry, now she is the dotting, spoiling Grandma I always knew she would be. Try not to listen to them but stay firm in what you want and believe.
As for the money you become the BEST bargin hunter ever. You get so good you can smell the bargins as soon as you enter the store :). Also you really get to find out what is value for money and how you can save even more, it really does teach you the value of money. You'll cope just like we all do and you love it because it means that you are home with your bubba and that is priceless.

I am sorry that you are having problems with the IL's they can be really annoying
at times. I am a SAHM and I won't be going back to work until all of my children
are in school. It is kind of hard sometimes but for the most part it is ok. My IL's
would absolutly have a heart attack and give us a lecture if they knew we were
ttc again. Some people just don't understand.

Yeah and the thing is I bet they went through exactly the same thing!!!!
I talked to my mum yesturday she was so supportive which is good, I also talked to my SIL and thought she would be better than she did, I told her i MIGHT be and she got all funny (maybe jelous) she warmed up to the idea.
My MIL wouldnt shut up about it last night though we had a big family dinner all her boys and there wives she said she didnt want to be a grandma i just went to the toilet cause I was about to blast...
I thinks its too late anyway I think I have morning sickness. I was dry reaching this morning....
Hope its PG!!!
