I am just organising a bit of a shindig for DS's bday - we are having it 3 days after xmas.

I am just wondering how far to go with it. Last year we just had a bbq and cake, and some decorations. I was leaning toward just doing that again. WDYT?

Or should i do some kind of theme and have a special cake and decorations? I am not much of a cook and its a public holiday so I am thinking round cake or cupcakes with those edible thingies on top!

Do they even care whats going on?!

I did a picnic in the park with piklets and cupcakes last year for DS1's birthday, when he turns 2 in April I am just going to have it at our house but will be a bbq and will be Thomas the Tank themed, he loves Thomas!

Yeah, because its summer, we're doing it at home. I dont want to drag everyone out and have it be a 40 degree day like last year! Eeep i just realised i invited everyone from 11-2 but we dont have any shaded areas outside, i hope the kiddies are happy to play inside if its hot! There probably wont be too many coming anyways...

He loves dinosaurs and animals so maybe we can just incorporate that a little. I am not so big on a big OTT party.

Yeah nothing worse than being all hot & sweaty out at a park hey.

Im sure the kids will be fine, im not going OTT either, just family and a few close friends I think!
