View Full Version : Going to cloth - Advice needed
Hi Ladies,
I have a 9month old (10kg) bub, and we have decided to go to cloth. I have read so much information I just dont know what to go for. .. I think AIO or AI2 would be the easiest?? Pockets?? Hes a heavy wetter at night, but Im willing to use boosters etc. I just don't know what brands to look at.
So tell me ...
what do you use???
Whats easiest/male friendly??
Can you put clothing easily over the top of cloth? Do they look bulky and odd over jeans/shorts etc?
Any advice for a newbie?? We will be doing part time to start with as we cant afford the huge out lay at the moment.
Thankyou

I think any of the Baby Beehinds nappies would be a great starting point. The Baby Beehinds Magicalls are dad proof for sure! They are a AIO with a pocket option. Magicalls are slightly bulky so probably not the best option under pants.
You could look at Bambooty, Itti Bittis, Bubblebubs AIO, Issy Bear, Cushie Tushies and Green Kids.
I currently use pockets and AIO/AI2. Brands like Baby Safari, Earfts, Bubblebubs AIO, Genesa Forge, Peapods, Holdens Landing, Ecobubs, Weenotions, Blueberry, Cheapies from off ebay and some other odds and ends lol.
If you have a heavy wetter over night I recommend Baby Beehinds night nappies, they do require a cover though. I just use wool soakers and fleece covers. If you can pick up some Keester Kovers they are great too.
Also it depends if you don't mind slightly bulky brands or you want trim.

I love AI2s. They dry SOOOO quickly compared to the AIOs. My favourites are BBH Petites and Itti Bitti D'Lish SIOs.
The bonus with AI2s is that the outer shells are reusable throughout the day if they aren't soiled so your startup costs are generally less. They are also generally more trim than AIO nappies and fit really well under jeans etc. There's never been anything that hasn't fit over the top of the petites and itti bittis. I like that the petites are adjustable at both the waist and around the legs - it means you get a really good fit.
I would also get a couple of night nappies - I like the BBH night nappies as well. Never had a leak.
Bambooty is my fav! Also the BBH petites.
Are you in a wet weather area? Think about how long it will take to dry. The bbh magic alls take a while to dry. But the ones with a pocket like peapods are really fast to dry.
