Hi,
I'm only new to the forum but thought I'd post my question before i head off and look around the boards... :)
It looks as if i may have Glandular Fever (find out results on Monday) ...and hubby and I started to TTC since last week, I didnt even think to ask the Dr today if we should put it on hold. Or what if I have already conceived will it effect bubs?
Can't seem to find any info on the net about it either - kinda anxious to know some more about it before I see the Dr on Monday.
Has anyone been in a similiar situation? or have you been pregnant whilst you caught Glandular fever?
TIA !

Hi - I found this - also search under 'Mononucleosis'
Good luck - i had Glandular fever from year 6 right up untill year 11, wasnt fun and my spleen swelled to the size of a foot ball (this is rare though). You have to really look after yourself, total rest ( that means doing absolutely zilch) and at least 2 or 3 weeks off work (i had almost a whole year off!!) and you should have mass amounts of vitamin c - though if your test turns up positive your gp should give you dietary info. You will probably spend the whole time asleep though!. Good luck let us know how you go.:fingerscrossed:
Good luck TTC, I had it when I was quite young and as a result of also getting Pnemonia within 12 months of having glandular fever and pushing myself too hard to get back to school and keep up with everything I ended up with Chronic Fatigue.
Look after yourself!
Best wishes

Like the others, I had glandular fever when I was younger. I've actually had it twice - ten years apart. The second time was nothing compared to the first though.
I wouldn't want to be pregnant whilst battling glandular fever. I can't imagine morning sickness coupled with the glandular fever symptoms I had the first time.
I doubt it would do anything to the baby, but if you have a bad bout of it, you aren't going to have an especially fun time during your pregnancy :(
It would really depend on how bad the condition is. Back when I had it I was bedridden for almost ten weeks, so the fact that you are up and on the computer is probably a good sign :)
Good luck with the results!

Thanks everyone,
Yes it is the last thing on my mind especially since I'm worse in the morning and at night, but there could be a possibility i am preg but wouldn't find out till over the next few days.
I wish I could lay in bed and rest properly, but i have no choice but to chase around after my one year old :crying: I felt sorry for him this morning to see mummy crying in so much pain trying to even walk. Luckily Hi-5 and some snacks have kept him amused so far while ive been on the couch resting.
Just wondering if its normal for my glands in my neck to go back down, and sore throat ease up- but the aches and pains get 10 times worse??
The Dr didn't tell me what to expect at all over the weekend.
Well im off to lay down again while blake eats lunch.

Yeah, my throat wasn't sore the whole time I had Glandular. I think it was in the beginning, probably too much info but I had tonsilitis at the same time and had pus lining my throat. It was horrid.
Im pretty sure the sore throat passed after a little while and I was just tender everywhere, fatigued, totally run-down and vomitting every ten minutes. It was a grand old time :D I had it pretty bad though.
