Vein sticking out?

My DS is nearly 9 months old & he has a vein sticking out of his neck. Its round & probably about the size of the end of a pen. It's on the right side & sticks right out whenever he turns his head to the left. Does anyone know whether it could cause him problems? DF is a little concerned considering it sticks out, all he needs to do is nick it and we may not be able to stop it bleeding.

I don't think its anything to worry about some babies and people have there veins closer to the surface. Mine and DD stick out heaps especially during the warmer mths.

My ds had a similar looking vein in his neck.

I would say that your ds's vein will become less noticeable as time goes by ... I just checked my ds (3½) and his is barely there any more!

DD has one too,on the right side.I don't think it's anything to be worried about.

im glad someone brought this up, ive been meaning to but keep forgetting. my ds has a couple of very prominent veins on his head, one sticks out and you can see it a mile off lol, i too have been concerned, but thought the dr mite think im odd to take ds in just for that! lol
