View Full Version : Where is everyone??
This thread has been a little quite lately so I thought I'd give you an update on where we are & hope someone replies soon :)
DF has been home for a week, he leaves again in 2 weeks time. Back to Darwin & then finally starts his deployment a few days after that. I cant wait! He has been pre-deployment training since April & is still in Australia! I just want to get this deployment over with - the anticipation is always worse than the actual event.
DS is well, him & I are heading to SA in just under a months time - we are going to spend a few weeks with my parents which will be great.
Tell me what you are up to...

Heyya Sharvs
Yeah - the defence threads have been quiet lately... I guess we all have things on! My hubby came home on an advanced leave party 3 weeks ago and we have been flat strap since. We are discussing a possible transfer to Perth, but it could still be a few years before that comes through. His ship arrived back in Sydney this morning and his first duty is on Sunday. Its been so nice having him home!
Life in general is pretty cruisy right now  Going to uni on Mondays, I've had a few interviews for temp work, and we are back to TTC.
How is everyone else? :ecomcity:

Hi Everyone
Well DH is back at sea and can't confirm at this stage whether he will able to come home for the birth of our new baby boy, as they are on standby to take stuff to Operation slipper again. So this year we have seen him a total of 28 days, yet again we are like a lot of other defence families and accept our fate. In the time that he has been away DHA has actually been helpful and got us new vinyl for our family room & kitchen, fans getting installed in the bedrooms ..... great for the summer and are going to be cleaning our central heating ducts as well since my DD and I are Asthmatic. The same can't be said for DCO, who in this area are complete idiots and basically have made me feel that will no help me out with anything whilst DH is away just saying that pregnancies are planned events and that I should have thought of this before I got preggers. I did think of a lot of things whilst TTC but never of the fact that they would be such complete pains in the rear, that they would at least help get DH around the birth if not straight after.
Glad to hear that HMAS Ballarat is home and that the TTC is back on track Pink Lady! I have been reading posts both here and on PID so I have an idea of what is going on with most people who are regulars in the thread. Sharvs, I know its a bug-ger having them in the country and not having them home each night, just for the simple things.
Anyway gotta run the computer is on the fritz again. Look forward to hearing all your news soon.
Leigh
Thank God I got some replies, I was starting to think everyone had left! lol
Ally - is normality coming back to your household now? How was your honeymoon? Perth is meant to be lovely. I've only heard good things about Perth. Further from your family though - oh well, I guess no posting is perfect!
Tiggerbaby - How are you coping? I cant imagine not having DF here when I gave birth. Are you close to family? Not that it is the same but atleast it helps a little. Good to hear DHA are pulling their finger out & helping you.
DF's deployment finishes in April & he's already told me its quite possible he will be in Iraq by the end of next year - I dont even want to think about that. He is about to go on operation slipper too. I'm still hoping he will discharge & we will be back in SA by the end of next year. He changes his mind every 10 minutes on what it is he wants to do.

Heyya Sharvs,
Yes, normality is creeping over and now we are ALMOST back to normal M-F work... just a few weeks left of stupid 36hr duties. He is going to Perth in November and will be gone for our first wedding anniversary :gloomy: I'm going to not let it get me down too much though, so I'm planning on going over for that weekend and seeing Perth for the first time - oh, and to see my hubby too! LOL

Hi Everyone
I have just had the best suprise, I've had in ages my DH (Who some of you might know is in the navy) is driving home from Sydney to spend the weekend with us here in Melbourne! It has been 43 days since we saw him last and it will probably be the only time we see him until I'm ready to give birth in November, if he gets back in time.
Yahoo, Imogen was squealing with delight when she spoke to her daddy and will be in jumping on both of us at a really early hour of the morning... groan for him.. as he will be really tired from the drive ! Well at least he will be able to sleep in as I take her downstairs and make him a nice brunch, belated Fathers Day, since he was away in the middle of the ocean last Sunday.
Just had to share otherwise I'd bust with excitement! Thanks

Hi Guys
I don't think I have introduced myself but you can count me in for the defence thread as well. Brief run down. Moved to new posting in July from Darwin while 20 weeks preggers, while hubby in Solomon's and with 8 month old son. Know absolutely no one which really doesn't bother me because that's the challenge I like and am due 7th December and hubby should be home 27th September in Australia and late October to our current posting - fingers crossed.

Tiggerbaby - that is fantastic news! :smiliedance: I hope you are having a great weekend together. I bet he will love having a belated fathers day at home. You'll have to let us know how it went.
Hi Wonkey, welcome to our little group - there arent many of us around. Where are you posted now? Which service is your hubby in? I take my hat off to you, I have a 9 month old so our kids are around the same age. We moved from NSW to QLD when he was 3 weeks old so that was fun! Hope to chat more to you soon
