ipad for 6 year old?

Hi,
Has anyone else purchased an ipad for their 6+ year old?

Or does anyone have a 6 year old that uses theirs? What sort of things do they use it for?

I have heard of 4 year olds using them with great ability.

They are great! There's learning games and they can watch movies.

My ds has one under the recommendation of his therapists. He plays matching games, watches movies during rest time at daycare, and loves the interactive books. (I know he's younger though).

My 9 and 6 yo both love to play on their Dad's iPad. There are loads of games to buy, but there are also awesome educational apps. The interactive books are also just beautiful as supa_star says (you can manipulate the illustrations and things).

The 9yo is often on the net on it (looking up stuff) and they will also watch podcasts that we download for them.
