Babies first animals
Thats not my dolly

That was all tonight before bed. Girls were more interested in making animal sounds, DS was busy playing with the touchy, feely book.

I NEED to get a copy of Wonky Donky....it is one of my favourites too. It is tooo funny!

If you like WOnky Donkey....try Vegetable Glue. It is about a girl who won't eat veggies and all her body parts fall off....even her bottom! Then Grandma saves the day by making her eat veggies which creates vegetable glue that make her body stick together. It is really funny!

At bed time other favorites are also 'Penguin', 'Apple Pear Orange Bear', 'Monkey and Me', 'Scarface Claw' and Dr Seuss.

DP and I both take turns to act out stories at bed time. So one of us reads, the other one does the acting. DD loves that soooooo much. I started doing it one night when he was reading 'Penguin' to her and it's just stuck!

At least DP is getting some use out of his NIDA degree

My daughter has loads of books. She loves them. She has the same 10 or 15 she likes best. It's great but can get a bit tedious for me lol. Her favorites are hairy mclary from donaldson's dairy and how do dinosaurs say goodnight. When the dinosaurs say goodnight in the book, she calls out to her dad to come in and he makes a funny noise when he gets to her door and walks across the room to kiss her goodnight. She loves it. She also likes what do I look like, slinky malinki, pets with Elmo, hide and seek, the very hungry caterpillar, goldilocks flip the flap book and loads more. Apologize for poor spelling and grammar, am writing from my iPhone.

Not quite sure what DD had tonight as DH read to her but knowing her pattern of late (read obsession) it was the Charlie and lola colours book (only because we have only have 1 other C&L book) and the I am absoloutely too small for school - (C&L) she is getting another couple for xmas.
The last ones I read to her was I am absoloutely too small for school and Happy Birthday to you blue Kangaroo - Emma Chichester-Clark - she is wonderful and has a pile of Blue Kangaroo books - all with a bit of a moral and then there are a few stand alones my fave (and a big fave with DD) is No More Kissing - about a little monkey who hates kissing and ends up kissing his new baby brother - by accident of course:laughing:
For DS I last read Aliens Love Underpants and the sequel - something along the lines of Aliens in underpants save the world which is jsut as unny as the 1st one.
He also rather likes the thats not my (truck, monster, dragon, dinosaur, frog) books and Where is green sheep.

OMG I just found "Aliens Love Panta Claus" I so have to get this for the kids for xmas

Oooohhh.... this is a great thread!! I'm requesting madly from the library online as I read the responses.

Our older 3 love "Where is the Green Sheep" too - can't believe how popular it is! All the Hairy Maclary books. We also love "Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum" by Lisa Wheeler; and "Toddle Waddle" & "The Snail and the Whale" by Julia Donaldson.

My baby loves one ... can't remember it's name, but it's quite a big book with full page black & white photos of babies faces. Any book with pictures of other babies really!

I've just read "The Faraway Tree" series to my 5yo, now we're onto "The Wishing Chair". She's obsessed - she desperately needs to learn to read so she can read herself - she's always bugging me for "just 1 more chapter"

I worked in public libraries for 11 years and LOVE books - and hope my kids will too!
