Hello!

Are you are pregnant, or know someone who is pregnant, and would like to have a student midwife share their pregnancy and birth experience?

I am a student, studying a Bachelor of Midwifery at Flinders University seeking women to follow through their pregnancies, birth and beyond.

The Continuity of Care Experience simply involves attending a minimum of 3 antenatal appointments with you, the birth and seeing you during the first 6 weeks of your baby being born. All of the above are done under the guidance of a Registered Midwife.

The benefits of including a student midwife include continuity of care, developing a ‘one-to-one’ relationship, a familiar face during labour; and support during pregnancy, labour and after your baby is born.

Having a student is free, and you are in charge, so if you decide at any time that you no longer want a student midwife involved in your care you, that’s okay!

I believe that birth is a life event, a natural physiological process that your body is perfectly designed to do. I believe in woman centred care – you body, your birth, your choice. Philosophically I believe in midwifery model care, I believe that women should birth where, when and how they want.

If you think you would be interested in having a student midwife follow you through this amazing time in your life, and you live in the Cairns area or surrounds, please email me: tiffanyk@live.com.au (tiffanyk@live.com.au)

(Ps - although the above site is a Queensland site, I will be relocating to the Adelaide Hills area in January 2011, and are seeking Adelaide mums) :)
