Hi All
Firstly, I am a looong time lurker here and don't often get around to posting replies because by the time i decide to, someone else has usually said what i would have said . I feel like i already know alot of the regular BH'ers quite well and think you are all great .
Anyway, my problem is this... My gorgeous little DD2 is now 10 weeks old. She was born 10 weeks premmie and so i expected the usual issues with digestion, wind e.t.c that i had with my DD1 (who was 6 weeks premmie). However, DD2 seems to have MAJOR wind pain and it seems it is not caused so much by the movement of wind in her intestines, but moreso by the actual act of breaking wind. The same thing happens when she tries to poop, which she only does about once a week (fully BF so pretty normal apparently). Also, i am pretty sure she has mild reflux, as she seems to bring up quite alot of milk after most feeds, regardless of how well she burps.
I know that these sort of bodily functions are sometimes uncomfortable for new bubbies but i have been up all night, with her literally squealing in pain trying to break wind, and it just doesnt seem normal  (although my MCHN seems to think there is nothing to worry about).
I do all the usual tummy massage, bicycling her legs, wind relieving holds e.t.c and i have tried gripe water, infacol & infants friend but it doesnt really help and when she finally does painfully pass a bit of wind, it only relieves her for a short time.
Today i am starting an elimination diet, beginning with dairy, and hope that reduces her wind but i would still like to know why it hurts her so much in the first place? has anyone else experienced this?
I am taking her to the doctors on wednesday but until then, any tips would be greatly appreciated... we both need a good nights sleep
Thanks everyone :)
