Rather a silly thread but just had to share my moment of shock!:D

I have just been looking for a pet motel for or 2 dogs while we go away at christmas time.

Here in brisbane I seem to be finding the most fancy dog motels. WT???

This is just part of 1 of the motels i have searched.

Our Luxury Suite's feature...

Furnishing's with comfy bed's to sleep on
High definition LCD TV's
A/C and or fans to keep them cool in summer
Tastefull theme's and decore, even a chandelier
they have pictures and its full on with curtains, mini couches, rugs, plants, wall decor lol. This is for dogs and cats lol

They get fed and walked and groomed which i like the idea of but I still think the room is a little OTT.:p

Now I love my dogs but why do they need tv's?

Would you hire one of these rooms for your dog/s, cat/s?

There just seems to be soooo many of these OTT pet motels. I thought they were just a dog canel area with grass and they get walked twice a day and fed. Gee was I wrong.:laughing:

For some reason I found the combination of appalling grammar and decadence quite sinister.

I wouldn't trust anyone who is promising a 5 star experience but doesn't know basic grammar.

Some of them use TV's because if a dog or cat is used to a lot of house hold noise, tv's, kids, people talking.. The tv's can help keep them a little happier, rather then just hear silence or other cats and dogs... I do think the chandelier is a little OTT though

Haha! Agreed Mrs N!

We hire a dog sitter. She comes over, gives our woofy love, attention, food and a walk and also brings in the mail. No tv for our dog! He has the house to protect!

I actually wanted to open my own et retreat years ago...obviously aiming to the more wealthier community. It's amazing what people will do for and spend on there animals. I would probably send my dog there if I needed to because I have seen what some dogs are like after they get back from some kennels...it isn't good. They weren't here in Brissie.
I actually think the TV's are a good idea. My dog (who lives with my Mum) suffers from separation anxiety so when we go out, we often leave her inside on her cushions with the TV left on...ridiculous as it sounds, she's like a human to us....she just can't talk :) Dogs get lonely too!

I checked out a couple of pet minders like that here in wa but I think it was for cats only and it has carpet and tv and air con and furniture and each one has its own outdoor garden ,it looked very nice just like a house and wasn't too expensive either. i just remembered they had theme rooms so puss could have a jungle room or others.
