View Full Version : Dry Skin

At the moment, DD is washed with the bedtime bath Johnson, but the tops of her arms seems to be a little dry.
I used apply the Johnson baby oil after a bath to keep her skin mositurized, but the oil doesn't seem to be fixing it, so I tried the Johnson lotion, and it still doesn't seem to be getting any better.
It just feels a little 'scaly' and it doesn't seem to bother her.
Was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of it? If I should change brands of my baby care products??
Thanks:thumbsup:

I wouldn't be using J&J products on baby skin at all - they contain lots of nasties. And baby skin really doesn't need soap - all that it does is dries it out. I would just be using water.
As for what to put on dry skin, try some good old sorbeline - its cheap, effective, and contains nothing that can harm skin!

I'd suggest sorbeline cream too. My DD's face was extreamly dry, but just a bit of that cream on her face daily has fixed the problem....and best of all, it's cheap!! :smiliedance:

just a suggestion. Get rid of the Johnsons products especially the baby oil. They are full of petro chemiclas and harsh nasties. and baby oil is a mineral oil made from petroleum bi-products. Try a vegetable oil like almond, or black sesame oil (this is what we use), or even olive oil. they are all natural, gentle and super moisturising. or try gaia skincare or aroma baby.

I use Johnsons & Johnsons too so when Summer gets dry skin i just get the moisturizer & that fixes it fine :)

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
Tonight, when I gave Isabelle her bath, I noticed that her arms were fine..... She had the dry skin for a few days...
Will look into the other products though, thanks heaps:thumbsup:
I didn't know that about the Johnsons products
I have been using nearly every one of their baby products.
Oh the GUILT...does it ever end??
