Hi girls..after suffering our 4th miscarriage I have been told that next time I get utd I have to start taking clexane injections and cartia (I was taking cartia this time but it didn't help) so just wondering if anyone has taken clexane for recurrent miscarriages or other reasons..I have a slight blood clotting disorder..

I'm so confused!!! I'm so scared to get utd again for fear of losing another one...but kinda optimistic that this might just work for us..

I have 2 healthy boys but would love nothing more than to give them another sibling...

Ive had clexene injections to stop me from clotting after birth when mobility was reduced. Did the job quite fine.

I've had Clexane when I had DVT a few years ago (not pregnancy related) and then I've been given it after the birth of each of my children.

Hi Ladies

I was on both clexane and cartia for pregnancy. It's a regular treatment regime my FS uses for IVF patients that have had M/C.

I started cartia at the beginning of my cycle and the clexane after EPU/ET. I continued both until 12 weeks pregnant and stopped the clexane. I still take the cartia though. I'll most likely stop the cartia a month before bubs is born.

I haven't been diagnosed with a clotting dissorder. Just for M/C.

Hi Girls...

I have been told not to take the cartia until i get a bfp...although my gyno had told me there is no harm in taking it before hand.....im not sure what to do!!!!

would it thin out my lining too much?? turns out this last m/c was ectopic so the cartia didnt have a chance to work but they said after they see a heartbeat they will start clexane...

I was taking cartia long before my FS told me to. My lining has always been fine. You'll only have lining problems if they are pre exsiting. Cartia is supposed to help with the blood flow to the uterus from what I'm led to believe???

Cartia isn't going to hurt you unless you are having surgery.

I am taking clexane and aspirin for this pregnancy and all is going well, so far reached 11 weeks! I started taking the clexane at about 14 dpo and have been on the aspirin way before we got our BFP. I have heard the aspirin helps with implantation?

I have homozygous MTHFR C677T which can cause blood clotting. My treatment might be a bit of overkill but it makes me feel a whole lot more secure, my security blanket...

Good luck for your next pregnancy hopeful, the clexane/aspirin combo might just be the key!!

While I am here... Martina, hope all is well in your world :goodvibes:

Hi, Just saw your thread. After several m/c I stared cardiprin (same as cartia) before tcc. And at 4 weeks pregnant started clexane 20. I took this till 16 weeks. This was to help the placenta implant itself. It's quite a common treatment for m/c if they think you might have a clotting or autoimmune problem that's causing the m/c's.
Anyway it worked for me. My daughter was the only pregnancy that stuck (was on the drugs). And she was a healty 8p5oz at 38 weeks!
It does increase your chance for bleeding. I had some around 9 weeks. But it was from the edge of the placenta and baby was fine.
Luck to you!! I'm back on my asprin now tcc number two.
Hope you get your number 3!

My dr said I shouldn't take aspirin as I have had a stomach ulcer and aspirin can lead to gut bleeds. However he did say other clotting conditions can benefit, just not me. I'd ask ur gp.

hopefulandwaiting I don't know if this will help you or confuse you more. I am taking the cartia, was told to start taking that as soon as we started to try. Having said that I usually stop taking it when AF shows up as I find that it makes it a LOT heavier. My Dr has said that there is no harm in starting and stopping it either. I will also have to take the clexane once I am pregnant and have an ultrasound to show the heartbeat, (and I have been told that I will be on that until the end of the pregnancy, and until a short time afterwords).

I don't think she was on asprin, but after 3 miscarriages my sister was advised to to pregnancy tests as early as possible and to go straight in to start clexane injections, and also hormone suppositories every other day. That pregnancy was a successful one, and my nephew had his first birthday last month. She had to do the injections up to about 12weeks I think.

Hey Girls

Just wondering if anyone suffers from an autoimmune deficiency called anticardiolipins? Was diagnosed with this about 3 years ago back in Ireland and ended up having to take a huge amount of drugs to keep hold of my pregnancy which thank God worked and we now have a beautiful little girl who is nearly 2!

We are now living in Brisbane and want to try for No. 2 and will need to take all the drugs again. Met with a fertility doc in the city today but alot of the drugs that were prescribed for me before are not available in Aus. Just wondering if anyone here has had to take medication for this condition and if so what were they? I was on a Blood Thinner injection twice a day, baby aspirin tablet, steroid tablet, steroid hormone injection once a day and a hormone pessary once a day for the first 12 weeks. Not pleasant at all and awful side effects!!! But worth it when you get a little baby placed in your arms.

Another thing, can you claim back the cost of the medication from somewhere???

Thanks

T
