It's all well and good to say you would like to work from home, but first you need to try and work out what your interests are and what you would be interested doing.
You would also have to work out how you would like to work from home. There is party plan, direct selling, internet business etc.......... You need to work out what will work for you and your situation.
I currently work part time but I also have a health and wellness business. I am currently also looking for something else to do from home. Party plan is out of the question for me as I'm as single mum and it just would not be suitable for ME.
I hope this helps and you find what you are looking for.

I would be intrested in working from home. But is it really worth? I don't know much about working from home , but I guess my pre-concieved idea is that it takes alot of time out of your day and you don't get much money in return? Is that true?

Hi everyone
I chose my health and wellness business because it gives me a little bit of extra cash every month and I can work up to quitting my 9-5 job. But for now it gives me a little bit of pocket money.
I just buy this company's non toxic products (because I like them and want a safer environment at home) and if I refer someone to the company, I earn a commission on their purchases. I can do this anywhere and whenever I like.
I don't have the time at the moment to run a 'full on' business from home and work at the same time.

Hope you all find what you are looking for.

Hi everyone, yes I work from home. I'm a family day carer and Im currently looking after 1 child. It can be challenging at times juggling the everyday house chores and working as well. I do enjoy doing it because its a lot of fun and the most important thing, is I get to look after my DS.

the biggest issue is "don't know what to do". It's like starting an ebay business then you're big question will be "don't know what to sell".
I suggest just starting.
Write down at least 20 ideas that you can think of
then choose one that you think you would enjoy
investigate it further
Don't ever think "i couldn't do that" or "i don't know how" because you can and someone will help you with anything that you don't know.
Give it a go!

You really need to make sure you have a separate place in the house to set yourself up - and close the door at the end of the day. My home business started as pocket money and has now expanded to a point I can rely on this fully.
You must have a little more will power and discipline and you stilll need time away from bubs - you may be working from home but you can't be professional with a screaming bubba in the background!
I love being able to wear trackies all day - but if I am up and dressed properly it is easy to get more done - I don't know why. It isn't a bludge, just more convenient, I am about to move into a new place with an office out the back and I can't wait - working out of the dining room is getting a bit much!!
Good luck - just find something you LOVE to do.

For the initial postee's - let us know what you've decided. Are you going ahead with a home based business?
Another tip - join up with a friend (even if you keep your businesses separate). motivate each other, help each other work out what to learn, etc.

well done - glad it's working for you.
Hiya - pleased that people are finding ways to balance work and family...however, some of the posts are starting to border on advertising. Please make sure that you are not too specific about the business otherwise I start to get grief from allsorts of people!
Thanks
Hilary
Hi there I work at home with my 7 and a half month old, I just wanted to do it for pocket money now its more than that. With hardley any start up costs as I couldn't afford it at the time. I love it and wouldnt change it for anything. Yeapie
Hi!
I'm just starting out in Party Plan. I actually found one with no initial layout. I'm still getting organised and will have my first party in a couple of weeks. Being from a small town I haven't seen anything similar here yet so I'm hoping it will kick off nicely.
I don't want to make a heap of money, because even though I can do it while my hubby is home with the boys, I don't want it to eat all of our time away either.
I will let you know how I'm going in a couple of weeks!

I am 33 weeks and am still working full time up until the 9th December. I work for a small accounting firm just 2mins from home and will be taking 12mths maternity leave.
My boss has employed a junior to cover me for the 12 months but has kindly asked me if I wouldn't mind doing some of my usual work from home. Of course i agreed as I get to do this on my terms and I dont have to go to the trouble of laying out any start up costs to start a work from home business.

I would also love to work from home but have no idea where to start. I have looked at a couple of those web sites that suggest working from home and earning big dollars but they never tell you what the business actually is before you lay out money,,,,and I'm just not that keen, or stupid. Has anyone had any real experience with that type of thing???
If anyone comes up with a great idea, share it with us all.
I think all mums would love to "work from home"
I know that I would, I just have no idea where to start!
If anyone has any suggestions feel free to email me

My experience with Internet "work at home" jobs is there is a lot of garbage out there - which i'm sure you already know. There are definately some great ideas too it's just finding them.
The work at home mum ones tend to be MLM businesses. There is an Aust one that says they will match you up with a job that suits you - it's just a MLM company.
Most of the products or programs comes down to advertising. You'll get a free website with a product to promote and you have to send emails, do google ads or find some other way to "sell" the product and you get a commission (affiliate).
Then there's Paid to Surf programs, matrix's, etc I'm having a play with these. They do pay but you never know when the program will disappear. You'll also need to learn how to use e-gold, paypal, etc to fund the programs. My tips would be to only use money you are prepared to lose (like we've all got play money lying around!!!) and join a program that you have researched and is referred to you by someone you trust (they have usually done some research). I only invest in programs recommended on a forum I like (there is no guarantee with any internet business).
Then there's currency exchanging - i tried this but found it too complicated and not something that interests me enough to keep doing.
Don't get sucked into a sales letter - they all sound like the next best thing!!! If you do want to buy an ebook see if it's on CLickbank - much easier to get a refund. Most websites will offer refunds but seriously if they don't pay up how do you track them down...
Admin: I'm not promoting anything here - just trying to help any newbies not be sucked into the mountain of sales letters out there on the www!
Good luck
You can PM me if you have any questions - i'm not an expert but i can find out the answer for you.

I know that HB Personnel are currently looking for Admin Temps in Toowoomba - I'm not sure if its work-from-home work or normal Temp work; maybe something you could discuss with them? Have a look in the Yellow Pages and ask around at the various businesses under "Secretarial Services".
Just an idea. I live in Toowoomba and seem to be in the same position as you when it comes to looking for work!
 Have fun

Hey Ladies,
I work from home and I suppose the biggest tips from me to those who are open to other opportunities. Would be to ask yourselves these questions?
What is my no 1 priority?
Why is that important to me?
What would be the consequence of not achieving it?
Does that worry me?
I believe if you ask these questions firstly than this will help you be more focussed to finding what ever it maybe that you are looking for in a Business. Knowing your DREAMS and GOALS is the key. Then finding a Business that meets your criteria.
KEEP LOOKING TILL YOU FIND IT!!!!
Hope this helps.
Regards
Chontae
