Because I want 3 (I have 2 - boy and girl). But all my friends have either decided to have 2 or 1, and they make me feel like I am doing something so abhorrent. I don't judge them for their choices, why are some women so bi+chy? :(

Oh forget them! Think of the ladies with 1 child, although some make that choice, others can't bear to do the childbirth thing again. Ladies with two kids, although can make that choice, some financially HAD to make that choice.
.. See where I am going?

They could be jealous, .....but who cares!

You need new supportive friends, and I personally want 3 kids, and if I'm able... I'd love a 4th! You can call me friend anyday :D

I come with a warning... I am female, I can get b*tchy some days, but never put a friend down :o

I totally agree! These women are very odd if they feel that 3 babies is somehow too many. It is none of their business if you decide to have 10, but 3 is so normal these days. What are they doing:confused: ????

Maybe they couldn't handle that many themselves and are worried that you don't realise how hard it might be.... I have two and am very happy with two.... for US it is the perfect amount - but if my friends want more, so be it.... they are the ones who have to do the hard work!! 3 really isn't alot of kids.... now maybe if you had 7 and wanted another, then I could understand their concern.... also, I just thought maybe they are worried they might lose you a bit more if you have 3 you might become busier with the children and not have time for them iykwim??? Any way I say, you want 3 - you have 3!!!

i feel similar...
i would wish to have a couple more, but feel judged because some people see you as being greedy Or they feel there are reasons why "its not appropriate" i have more...

i say, pop'em out!! theyre probably just jealous they dont have the discipline:D

I'd find some nicer, more supportive friends!

People look at me like I have 2 heads because I am expecting number 4. They think we are aliens or something because we are going against the norm of only having 2. But I don't care, I love kids (I'd have 12 if I could) and I love being home with them. I am the one who has to raise them, so everyone who is judging me, can go and jump.

Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is if you want three children and you are capable of looking after them and supporting them financially it is no one elses business but your own. I am up to my third prenancy and I must say to date have not come across any of this type of opposition. Ignore them!

No one should judge you! If you want to have 10 kids it's your choice! If you can comfortably support your kids and any more you wish to have then why not? I've only had my first and want another one (am an only child so no wonder!). My saying is, I don't want more kids than I have hands!! But that's me and I would never impose my choices on others. And it's bl@@dy hard to afford more than 2 when you live in the Sydney suburb I live in! We're considering a move interstate because of that.

Just because most people have 2 doesn't mean you should be made to feel it's a bad thing to want more. I think it's lovely :yelclap:

The way I see it, people seem to think they are right. So in comparison every one else is wrong. A pigeon pair is considered acceptable by most so this seems to be the standard.
I try to respect people's choices. I see people don't want any, some want one, two, three, ten, whatever. Personally I want 5, hubby wants 6. I think its a choice for the parents to make ideally, not society. I figure if i get to 5 might as well keep going. Umm, why not? Someone give me a good reason. I am already crazy, so no worries there! When I fell preg with my third i didn't get much congratulations. It was like , "Oh " as if it was an accident.
:hugs: Spider - do what is best for your family, friends can choose to support you or not. If they don't, sorry i wouldn't call them friends.

People obviously just relate it to their own situation and think that 3 may be too many for them to cope with personally but that's not their problem so don't worry about it.

I agree with everyone else, if you and your partner want 3 then have 3.I would have loved another 1 or 2 but 3's our limit.Well DH's and financial limit:laughing:

As far as I'm concerned, it shouldn't matter how many children you have as long as they're all looked after.

I say go for it if thats what you want, if they were paying your bills and bringing hem up then they would have a right to saysomething. Tell them where to go, and maybe find some friends who have 3 or more kids who could then give you the support that you need. If you still have that yearning for another just do it, you are only here once and wouldnt want any regrets

I had a bit of flack from so called friends when we were deciding about a 3rd but in the end its up to the individual person. Im waiting for the flack when we tell them we will be trying for a 4th.

 Good luck with your choice.
