My 9 month old is not crawling yet. She just rolls and rolls and rolls everywhere.
When she is on her tummy she will keep her torso up with her hands and arms but she doesn't seem to show much interest in moving those legs!
Has anyone else's baby been such a late crawler?
She doesn't have any teeth yet either!!

My brother has only just started crawling, he's about to turn 1.
He has teeth, but only two... not sure when they came in?
Mind you, even though he was still rolling around the house about a month ago, he's the fastest crawling baby I've ever seen!! :o

Boof only started to crawl properly at around 10mths before that it was either rolling everywhere or commando crawling. To him all that mattered was that he got where he wanted to go !
Try not to stress easier said than done i know but honestly once she starts you will be pulling your hair out !!!
EJs still not crawling properly either or comando crawling though she's sometimes now getting into the crawling position . She tends to sorta bum shuffle around at pres if she wants to get somewhere or sorta launches herself from a sit onto her stomach to reach something.
Shes only got one tooth thats just come though.

DD is not crawling yet either. She shows no interest in wanting to move her legs. She does love sitting up tho, thats all she does, she would prefer to move things to her (she can grab a plastic chair and move it to her, she can even take hold of the top of her plastic toy tub and move it to her as well  )
She can do circles on her tummy and drag herself but like your daughter she wont crawl either.
She does have 4 teeth though.

My DD1 didn't crawl or sit until after she walked  She walked at 9 months but didn't sit until about 10 months and never actually crawled until after she was 1!
All in their own time!!

Totally not a worry that she isn't crawling!!! Mine both crawled before this (actually DS2 walked before 9 mths  ) but I know alot of babies that have started crawling after 9 mhts.....
Also, my DS1 didn't have any teeth till he was 10 mths old and then cut 8 in 2 weeks!!!
DS was exactly the same. He didnt start crawling until a few days before his 1st birthday.

i wouldn't worry too much about the crawling. she will get the hang of it in her own time.
with the teeth - the later they get then the better it is. the teeth have more room and are less likely to end up crooked and it is easier on them - less painfull to cut. my dd got her first tooth at nearly 11 months and still at nearly 13 months has her 2 top teeth and 1 and 1/2 on the bottom. (the half has been coming up and down for the last month.)

My little guy has just started to crawl this week but hasnt mastered it completley yet - he goes a little further every day though (he is over 10 months). He was a roller but now he realises that he can get there on hands and knees he doesnt roll that much at all now. He had an accident at 7 months old (a book case fell on him) So it pretty much put him behind as he didnt move much for a whole month or more! Its nothing to worry about. I had to take DS to physio because he had a stiff neck from the book case and she said the average age a baby crawls in Australia is 11 months and the average age for walking is 15 months. I was a big worry wart like you wondering if he was ever going to crawl and im so excited now he finally is. It will happen just give it time..they all get there eventually!!
DS could sit up by himself if sat down since about 6.5 - 7 months...but didnt learn till about 4 weeks ago to get from the floor to the sitting position himself. The physio taught me a few tips which were great and once he got the confidence there has been no stopping him!
They dont see no need to worry if bubs isnt crawling up to one year old. And even then your DS is rolling so she is showing interest in getting mobile. She is fine...its frustrating for both perants and child but hang in there cause one day she will just get up and go! There a few tricks you try to help her get them legs moving by rolling up a towl and putting it under here belly so she has something to balance on so she can get the rocking action...
DS has 8 teeth...and i suspect he is getting his molars early!

Thanks for the replies, it is good to see that others are similar to my DD.
You have put my mind at ease.
I know I will freak when she does start to crawl as she will be into everything!
Thanks again

My DS1 didn't crawl until after 10 months and walked at 13 months - each bubba will reach their milestones in their own time. DS2 is almost 9 months and can not crawl either - I'm not at all worried as I know he'll do it when he's ready :)

My Nine Month old is not crawling either, she gets up on all fours moves her hands and then collapses as the legs just wont do it.
I am not worried as she is my second and I know they all get there eventually.
Guess what, apparently crawling isnt even in the list of developmental milestones. So maybe yours is too smart to crawl, is saving those knees and is just going to go straight to walking!!!. Maybe mine too.
Isnt it nice to know our babies are not alone in the rolling and shuffling and commandoing.
My DD is 11 months old and not crawling in the errr 'normal' sense of the word:D We have tiles and she can sit up on her knees and hands or just plain kneel but she finds it way easier to slide everywhere on her belly:laughing: She is trying to stand though I am guessin she is gonna bugger the crawling and just start walking when she feels like it:rolleyes:

My son is 9.5 months and not crawling and has no teeth either! He crawsl backwards only, it is very funny! He is up on all fours and rocking but thats about it for now! Don't worry at all!
Hey Kate!
As you know Bailey has only just started crawling and its not up on hands and knees, its commando type drag crawling. Also he only in the last fortnight cut his 2 bottom teeth.
It will just happen overnight and you will wonder why you were so worried! I know how you feel though, I though Bailey would always be a gummy bear rolling around the floor LOL:laughing:
When they start moving, we might wish they went back to that stage:laughing:

Hey Leanne
She cut her first tooth on the 31st August and I didnt even realise it ! Not that you would know it, the little bugger won't let anyone near her mouth to show it off. :D

my DD didnt crawl till a week before her first birthday then didnt walk till she was 16months - i too was worried but developmentally she is fine - dont worry - they will crawl when they are ready - enjoy the time not having to chase after them
I know two people (my brother and my best friend) who never crawled at all - they both shuffled around on their bum and then one day just got up and walked. Interestingly, they're both left handed - probably has nothing to do with it but a funny coincidence!!

Thats fantastic news Go Gabrielle! :yelclap:
I know what you mean about not letting anyone near her mouth. Whenever I want to look at them or show someone he pulls away and clamps his mouth shut tightly:rolleyes:
Next thing you know she will be on the move

Don''t worry, some bubbas never crawl, Hayley started crawling at 8 months. :)
Jess didn't start crawling till about 9 1/2 months. We went to my granny's funeral in S'pore on the 13th September last year and she was commando crawling and watching my cousin's little boy who's 7 months older than her walking and tried to crawl but couldn't get her legs to go the way she wanted to. The day after we got back (20th) she finally crawled forward and that was the end of that. She didn't walk till 15 1/2 months old either
