Well my son is 13 months old, and has slept through the night since 2 months unless sick, but recently he has been waking up through the night screaming whenever he is in his room/cot.

It first started when his dad went to Sydney for 3 days, but then stopped the night his dad got back....but my DP then went fishing one night and it all started again.........

He will sleep fine in the lounge room, on the floor, etc, but if he is put in his cot whilst asleep he wakes up crying, and screams if I put him in there while awake.....

PLEASE HELP ME......I really dont know what is wrong, and why he is feeling this way about sleeping in his bed....does anyone have any suggestions??????

There have been no changes to his room, and nothing new, etc, so I am at a loss.......and when I go get him, he holds on tight and wont let go, which leads me to believe he is scared.......

i had the same problem with ds, everytime i left his room he would scream as he would only fall asleep in my arms.i ended up having to do controlled crying and bought the book sleep right, sleep tight and it was the best thing i could have done.he will soon get used to sleeping in his cot. good luck:thumbsup:

Do you have a night light or some sort of light/lamp in his room? could he be afraid of the dark?? just wondering cause that is what my ds#1 used to do and we got him a little touch lamp for his room and he was fine from then on.

my son hated his cot , always did. if he woke up and realised he was in his cot he'd scream. so we put him in a big bed. to start with it was a mattress on the floor (so he wouldnt fall out of bed) than he progressed to a bed with a rail. its frustrating i know but that worked for us

I have done controlled crying a couple of times, but that ws only when he wouldnt go to sleep.......have tried since this started but his screaming get louder and worse and doesnt stop........

He has no problem falling asleep as he usually puts himself down for a nap at the same time each day........

He has been sleeping in his cot since 2 months old..........

Dont have a touch lamp, but I have one of those Fisher Price Aquariums, that hang on the side of the cot......he use to love it, but screams when I turn it on.........it gives light and plays music......have been thinking of getting him a night light, but a afraid of the potential fire danger, as his room is quiet small, and the power point is close to the end of his cot (well out of reach though).............

It is so frustrating, I just dont know........I just put him down in his cot, and its day and he still screamed.......aarrrrgggghhhhh

thanks for you suggestions.....
