HELP!!!

My darling DS 2 in 2 weeks, is a perfect sleeper. He sleeps 11 hours at night and 3 hours during the day.

Tonight he climbed out of his cot for the first time. He came running out to me very proud of what he had done. I didn't make a big deal of it, I just put in back in his cot and did my usual good night routine. I am petrified that he will make this a habit. I am starting to put him into a big bed during the day but of a night time he just keeps coming out of his room, so he gets one chance in the big bed then if he gets out I put him back in his cot.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep him in his bed once he is put in there???

I am due to have 2nd baby in 3.5 weeks, so I don't want 2 babies up at night.

My DS 2 1/2 was doing this at the start of the year but i think he fell and scared himself so now he wont even try to climb out. I dont know any advice on how to stop them but :fingerscrossed: and good luck with it.

My 2 year old just started doing the same thing over the weekend :banghead: I think it's a sign that he's ready for a bed

As for putting your DS into a big bed during the day, the key is to be persistant. Once he gets out, go in and re-settle him. I know that could become very frustrating but it's a good start.
I think maybe your DS is a little confused as to having a cot and a bed. Have you thought about putting your DS into a bed fulltime ?

Best of luck :hugs:
