Hello ladies,
just wondering for those who have had an abortion or multiple abortions has it affected your body in subsequent pregnancies? weather it be cervical incompetence or something else?
Hi there
I've never had a termination as such, but I've had four d&c's for failed pregnancy, so I've had the exact same procedure, just for a different reason. Anyway, four d&c's did make me anxious about cervical incompetence, but I've never experienced such problems, in fact, my cervix remained firmly and stubbornly closed until after my edd with both babies.

i have had one termination about 17 months ago and this pregnancy is so far so good- tho i am only 15 weeks...:fingerscrossed:
I had one 6 years ago and was paranoid it would interfere with future pregnancies but I had no problems with ds's pregnancy. My gp and gyno both assured me it would have no affect on falling pregnant or causing any problems in future pregnancies :)

Hi there,
I had one when i was 15 & the next time i fell pregnant at 20 ended in a m/c. It was not proven that the termination caused the m/c 5 years later but i have a feeling that is the reason.
Hope that helps.

I've had one termination. I had no problems with my pregnancy or with getting pregnant.
I havent had a termination but i have a friend who had three and her fourth pregnancy was ectopic so now she does have fertility issues but i think that has more to do with the fact that she only has one fallopian tube now. Not sure if its related but she seems to think that her chances of ectopic were higher because of her terminations but im not sure if thats true or not but thought i would share
i have had one termination when i was 16... i then fell pregnant with our first DD when i was 17 and have just had my 3rd bubba... so no probs here and i also have PCOS!!

I had an abortion when i was 15 and have had no problems with subsequent pregnancies but I have read and been told that problems with fertility and premature labour can result from repeated early term abortions or at least one late term abortion.

I have had a few accidents,as well as a late termination (18 weeks) they were spread out over 10 years.
I didn't have a prob with dd except low placenta but that has nothing to do with the terminations.

Someone I used to be close to was told by her dr to stop having abortions (she has had lots) as after 2 it can affect your fertility (according to the dr). But she still keeps getting pg so at least for her it hasn't been true.
I haven't had a termination, but had 2 d&c's for the one missed miscarriage (the first one didn't get it all) and fell pregnant with my twins the month after without any hassles.
I think as long as you have had the termination done under the right medical procedure and there was no subsequent infection, your chances to carry another baby to term are great.
I had a termination a couple of years ago... and no subsequent problems here either.

I had a termination about 5.5 years ago and ended up having bleeding all the way through with ds as well as preterm labour at 35 weeks.

A friend of mine terminated her pregnancy. About ten months later she fell pregnant again but miscarried at ten weeks. From what she was told, it had nothing to do with her previous termination.
